Holiday Gift Guide: Find It Games Starry Night Hidden Objects Game {Review & Giveaway}

Find It Games logo{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, Angela H!}

It's fairly common that we'll be outside and one or both of my daughters will point up at the sky and, with amazement in their voice, say something along the lines of Look! The moon! or Mama! I can see a STAR!

It's the little things in life, right?

I do have to admit, there truly is something somewhat magical about staring up at the night sky and seeing anything from a single star to a complete constellation glittering back at you from a gazillion light years away. You're never too old for that!

But recently there has been a new and unique way to experience the nighttime sky and the entertainment and love of searching through it thanks to Find It Games and their Starry Night Find It hidden object game.

Starry Night Find It GameAfter having been amazed and enthralled when we were introduced to Find It Games this past summer with their VeggieTales Find It game, there was no question that we were excited about the opportunity to be entertained with Starry Night.

Whether at home or on-the-go, these fun and innovative games are perfect for the car, waiting for an appointment or just a quiet moment relaxing in a chair, as there is nothing more required than an imagination and a love for a good search. Kids (and adults) are able to be entertained quickly and easily just by turning the container over and over while looking for the next brightly-colored cute piece on their list.

When the three-dimensional star-shaped Starry Night arrived, the biggest issue was trying to decide who was going to get to take the first turn searching... and whether or not they were willing to share.

Starry Night reviewAs expected, this unique handheld scavenger hunt has been examined, shaken, turned, and twisted time and time again since its arrival. The thick and durable construction of the container has easily held up to all of the activity and even an accidental drop or two hasn't made the slightest dent.

Find It GamesWith 40 objects waiting inside – including objects you might expect such as the crescent moon, an astronaut, and earth, as well as others that are a little more unusual like an observatory, a firefly, night vision goggles, and more – we've all had a great time twisting and turning the game to search within the sea of colorful beads for them.

Starry NightAs with the VeggieTales Find It game, Starry Night also includes a small pad of paper that lists all the objects so that players can keep track or even compete to see how fast or how many they can find. Unlike that version, however, Starry Night doesn't have the list of searchable items printed directly on it somewhere, so for now we have made sure to not misplace the score pad... but we'll see what happens in the future.

score padSeeing as we're not playing competitively around here, so far Big Sister E and Little Sister B have been searching happily, even when the little pad isn't nearby. Their eyes light up as they excitedly hunt and discover each new (or repeat, even) item that appears.

hidden object gameEven better, many of the outer space and nighttime items glow-in-the-dark, so the girls will get an even bigger kick out of taking the star into a dark room and oohing and ahhing over the glow. What a fun addition to an already-rousing game!

I love that such a simple concept can result in such a fun and entertaining experience each time we pick up this game. The star is large enough that the girls can maneuver it easily when they are shaking, spinning or turning it around, yet it is easily portable so that it can be brought along in the car, to an appointment or anywhere that quiet time might be required.

Sold nationwide this holiday season (visit their convenient store locator to find your closest retailer) or online directly from Find It Games, Starry Night retails for $22 and would be a great stocking stuffer for kids or adults on your list. It will encourage curiosity and learning and trust me, you'll want to pick it up to search for one more elusive item time and time again!

And, thanks to the generosity of Find It Games, one person will be able to do some star hide-and-seek playing of their own, because...

One lucky person will win a Starry Night game from Find It Games!
