Jenlinn.com Stylish Suede Boots {Review & Giveaway}

The kids and I went to visit a good friend and her adorable baby boy not too long ago and had a great time... has it really been that long since my girls were that small?

As we were leaving (and attempting to not overstay our welcome), my friend made a joke about my moon boots. Moon boots! Did you have those when you were a kid? I can remember having to line mine with plastic bags to keep my feet dry. Somehow I'm thinking that isn't the sign of a good winter boot, but maybe that's just me.

It was clearly all in good fun and I wasn't in the slightest bit offended by her remark (as the boots I was wearing actually are somewhat reminiscent of the ones I shuddered at when I was younger), but it did also make me think about it as we drove away.

When we're in public I don't usually see other women wearing winter snow boots around, I see them in trendy, stylish, bulky ones that do actually go with just about any outfit. My husband thinks the most popular ones are extremely ugly and would never want me to spend an exorbitant amount of money on them... but they just look so darn comfortable (and I've heard that they truly are).

As well as the soft and smooth suede upper that this style of boots is known for, the ROSE-2 has something extra in the removable dual-color striped knit cover. Leave it on for a more slouchy, unique look or pull it right off to leave the crisp, clean appearance of the boot itself. Who doesn't like options?

As I marveled at the knit cover, I also peeked inside these boots and got a sense for the soft coziness of the faux fur lining and insole and just how much my feet were going to enjoy these in the seemingly never-ending cold temperatures that we have around here.

And once my tootsies were inside? Oh yes, definitely comfortable. The combination of the smooth faux fur and the way that the ROSE-2 boots fit perfectly from the cushioned footbed all the way up my calves was just right.

I have since worn them with a variety of different types and pairs of pants (letting the pants fall both under and over the boots) and have been really happy with the look. I do think that the striped cover is a fun feature...

...but I have to admit that I find myself partial to the simple, classic look of the coffee-colored boot on its own:
