Summer Infant Tummy Comfort Positioning Seat {Review & Giveaway}

When Big Sister E was a newborn, the early months were all a blur of feedings and sleeplessness and just taking the whole motherhood thing one day at a time. As all moms know, you can try as you might to learn all that you can before your baby arrives, but there just is never a way to be fully prepared for how much your life will change.

A little over two years later, when Little Sister B arrived, I was no longer a first-time mom, but that didn't mean that the knowledge that I had was going to cover everything. Although the girls were similar in some ways, they were completely different in others and it seemed that I was back to square one trying to figure things out.

One area that I wasn't prepared for was Little Sister B's acid reflux and just how frustrating it would be to feed her and have most of it get spit back up minutes later. We tried everything to get it to stop! Thankfully she eventually outgrew it, but during the time that we were dealing with the issue it seemed like it would never end.

In my search for solutions and helpful products at the time, I came up pretty much empty-handed. Fortunately, Summer Infant has since debuted another of their innovative, high quality products to help parents and babies everywhere: the Tummy Comfort Positioning Seat.

Considering that Summer Infant already has some of the best-selling, most loved and time-tested baby products known to parent-kind, I wasn't surprised that they had come up with such a great product to help with feedings or right afterward.

This award-winning unique seat gently elevates little ones to the recommended 30-degree angle for optimal comfort and even includes a soothing vibration feature to help in relaxation... something that both mom and baby might need, right?

When the Tummy Comfort Positioning Seat arrived, I couldn't wait to see the various features and well-designed durability that I knew Summer Infant would provide.

After opening the box, I was surprised and pleased to find that there was nearly no assembly required - a definite timesaver. The entire seat was completely put together and all that was needed was to attach the four feet (two snap in and two screw in) and it was set to go.

The instructions were easy to follow and the legs were labeled for even easier assembly... in a matter of minutes I had them installed and was pressing the lock buttons on each side to open the seat up and click it into place for use.

The Tummy Comfort Positioning Seat has the look of a mini bouncer seat with it's extremely soft, cushioned seat and ample room for an infant to sit back and relax. I wouldn't mind having one in my size to kick back in after a good meal!

The breathable mesh upper portion is great for keeping baby cool and the fact that the entire cover can be removed and is machine washable is a necessity for any baby product - but particularly one that is going to be used during or after feedings.

The addition of the soothing vibration feature is a really nice touch to this seat, as not only did both of my kids like the feeling of it, but it helps with the overall relaxation that can be gained from this product. After installing three AA batteries, it is a simple sliding switch to turn the power on and off and Summer Infant even thought to include an automatic shutoff after 20 minutes so that you won't have to worry about leaving it on for too long if your infant has fallen asleep after eating.

When it comes to safety, Summer Infant didn't skimp there as well. The 5-point harness system is covered on both sides by velvety soft fabric so that it won't ever aggravate delicate skin and adjusting the straps to find a secure fit is quick and easy.

Changing between the three height options for the harness isn't hard either, as the straps are unhooked on the back and can be moved without ever having to take the entire seat apart.

When it comes time to pack up the Tummy Comfort Positioning Seat to bring it to your next destination or store it away, it impressively folds up in seconds to a compact, portable package. Simply press the lock release button and fold the seat in half, pushing the support leg down to meet it...

...and everything stays folded and ready for travel or to be stashed away for future use.
