Holiday Gift Guide: QuickSmart 3-in-1 Travel Bassinet {Review & Giveaway}

Oftentimes I'm introduced to baby products that are new to the market and I think, Sure. Okay. I suppose I would have used that. On the other hand, I come across some that make me scratch my head, wondering why it was ever invented and who in the world might be compelled to purchase it.

And then there are the products and the companies that just get it.

The ones that understand that life with children is one big juggling act that moms and dads everywhere have to work to figure out and make it through each day. There's always the delicate balance between having things all under control and the feeling that trying to add one more thing to your day might just push it all over the edge, isn't there?

Therefore, when it comes to finagling a rush out the door to get to daycare or a drive out of town to visit relatives or hopping on a plane to zip across the country, it all requires spontaneity, flexibility, patience and convenience. Particularly when it comes in the form of innovative, high quality, really cool products like those from QuickSmart.

A recent addition to the U.S. from Australia, QuickSmart was developed with the mobile, on-the-go parent in mind. Instead of another traditional stroller or high chair, products such as their Backpack Stroller (which weighs just 11 pounds and folds up into a backpack) and their Easy Fold High Chair (which stores extremely flat and barely takes up any room at all) just make life easier.

Therefore, when it comes to traveling short or long distances, their 3-in-1 Travel Bassinet is the perfect combination of diaper bag, changing table and travel bassinet all in one portable package.

As with many other of QuickSmart's innovative products, the 3-in-1 Bassinet almost needs to be seen to be believed. How in the world did they manage to include every possible feature that a mom could need all into one compact, 6.6 pound package?

As a diaper bag, the 3-in-1 measures in at 14.2" H x 3.9" L x 16.5" W, which is a big larger than a traditional bag. However, with all of the pockets and accessories included easily within reach, you won't have to worry about digging inside or struggling to find what you need when you need it.

On one side, there are multiple pockets that could be used for clothes, toys, a bottle or sippy cup, Mom's wallet and phone, etc to keep both you and your baby organized and prepared.

On the other side, there are two more pockets as well as storage for the included changing pad.

Even better, that pocket includes a really great magnetic wipes holder so that you can flip up the flap and pull out a wipe all with one hand... which anyone who has ever changed a squirmy baby knows is priceless.

So now that you have all of your essentials packed into convenient spots, it's time to head out the door!

Whether you're taking a week-long family vacation, an overnight trip to Grandma's house or simply spending the afternoon at the mall, chances are that you're going to need a place to change your baby's diaper as well as a comfortable place for a little nap. Instead of borrowing a crib at the hotel, lugging a big play yard or using a dirty bathroom changing table, the 3-in-1 is the answer to all of the above.

In around 10 seconds, I was amazed to see that I simply had to unclip and pull up the sides of the bag...

...tuck the ends of the included mattress under the canvas flaps and secure in place with Velcro...

...and I had a safe, secure bassinet or changing station fully assembled and ready to use. Perfect for newborns up to 19.8 lb (or until the child can sit up unassisted), this hygienic spot or sleeping cot can then be placed right on the floor, on the bed or on any other flat, horizontal location. I love how fast and easy it is to get this ready to go!

As my children are too old for the 3-in-1 now (where were you five years ago, QuickSmart??), I had a friend step in and try it out with her little one to get a good sense of the possibilities... and the results were just what I expected.

Getting ready to leave the house, the 3-in-1 was easily packed and thrown over a shoulder...

...and everything was within reach in each of the pockets. When it came time for a diaper change at the park, they marveled at just how simple it was to pop open the 3-in-1 so that there would be no worries of dirt or bugs. She simply pulled out the waterproof changing mat and laid it right inside and they were good to go. This happy little baby then wanted to continue to lay there and check out the trees, clouds and birds!

When it was time for my little tester to take a nap when visiting a friend's house, the 3-in-1 was popped open and laid in the middle of the bed, creating a safe place for her to take a snooze and wake up happy. The soft cotton sheet is then easily removable to be washed and replaced for next time!

Each time I have seen the 3-in-1 Travel Bassinet in any of its three forms, I've yet to be anything but very, very impressed. It is well-made, durably constructed, compact, and just so darn easy to use in so many situations. Whether you co-sleep and want to pop the bassinet up in bed or you are flying to see family for the holidays and don't want the huge hassle of transporting a pack 'n play, this is versatile enough to meet nearly any need.

Retailing for $69.99 on Amazon (QuickSmart's website lists it for $89.99 but that is in the process of being updated) and available only in black in the U.S., the 3-in-1 Travel Bassinet is a great example of QuickSmart's innovative, well-designed products and just how much thought went into creating them.
