Stylish Swimwear, Tankinis, Bikinis and More: Hapari Swimwear {Review & $95 Gift Certificate Giveaway}

As soon as the weather even hinted that it might become warm, the racks of the stores around here were overflowing with swimsuits. Everywhere I looked there were signs of the upcoming beach and pool trips that had been in the back of people's minds throughout this long, cold winter.

But... I noticed something. The majority of the swimwear that I saw seemed to fall into two categories. One, the fun, brightly-colored, patterned tiny bikinis designed for an age and lifestyle that I'm clearly past. Not exactly appropriate for chasing my two kids around in the water, let alone something I would remotely feel comfortable wearing.

The second group of swimsuits? Borrrr-ing. Plain, simple, unflattering one-pieces or tankinis that would provide more coverage but c'mon, would it be that bad to show a small amount of personality in these things? Where was the swimwear that was the best of all worlds, combining fashion, style and color while still being modest and cute?

And then I remembered that just that exists right online from Hapari.com.

There have been times in the past when I browsed online swimwear sites and felt as though they were aimed at one particular style. However, at Hapari I was immediately impressed with the extensive collection of patterns, colors, and designs of high quality swimsuits for women of all shapes and sizes.

I especially love their tankini swimwear and the way that these have the ability to keep things fashionable while still being modestly covered — a must-have when you're running around with kids. With so many different top styles (e.g. halter, crisscross, tank, etc) as well as bottoms (e.g. regular, high-waist, tie sides, shorts, skirts, sarongs, etc), the opportunity to custom design a swimsuit to fit your liking is right there!

After going back and forth for quite a while, I finally chose the Seaside Bandeau Kava Tankini Top and the Tummy Tuk Black Bottom and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived at my door only three days after I placed my order.

While I'm typically far from someone who would wear a strapless swimsuit, I was drawn to Hapari's description mentioning that this bandeau top not only has adjustable sides, but optional straps as well. If I wasn't confident that the sewn-in support and soft top band would stay securely in place on their own, I could always add the straps right on!

At the same time, I'll wear just about anything that insinuates that it'll give me a tummy tuck appearance, so these great bottoms would be the perfect thing to accompany this flowered top.

I have mostly stayed with solid color swimsuits in the past, but I immediately liked the frosted white flowers on the black background in this Kava print and the way that they provide a tropical vacation feel.

The fabric itself is strong and durable, the tankini top is plenty long (love that!), and the addition of those subtle drawstrings on the side really do allow the wearer to choose just the right length for her. I love being able to cinch them up to create little gathers along the side to hide any of my own bumps or bulges underneath!

Along with the straps that can be added on to turn this top into a halter, tank top, or criss-cross back, and the UPF 50+ and there isn't much more that I could ask for.

As for these great swimsuit bottoms, I love that they rest at my natural waist instead of at my hips (3" higher). Why encourage any muffin top to spill over when it could instead be hidden away underneath?

I'm a big fan of how these bottoms don't bind or pinch anywhere and are just right to rest underneath my tankini top to complete the look. I'm telling you, those extra few inches truly do provide a slimming, tummy tuck appearance!
