Costume Discounters: Clifford the Big Red Dog {Review}

For quite a while there, playing dress-up actually wasn't a big hit around here. Aside from Halloween costumes, Little Sister B was too young to really understand and Big Sister E didn't seem to like the idea of having to put the outfits on and off. But with so many cute kids' costumes out there, I figured it was just a matter of time...

And I was right.
Actually listed as a boy's costume on their website (what? Girls can't dress up as Clifford?), Costume Discounters summed up their Clifford the Big Red Dog Costume perfectly by saying that it "pays tribute to the big red dog." Is there a better way than with a bright red velour jumpsuit? Having fully discovered how much fun it can be to dress up, it was instant love for Big Sister E when she first saw this costume come out of the box.

Already a big fan of Clifford, she was more than excited to step right in to this plush outfit and take on being such a fun character. I was happy to see that the fabric was extremely soft and durable (and washable!) and the addition of the padded head and front paws made this much better quality than I have seen in the past.

We have also seen costumes before where the child's feet or hands have to stay covered or are strapped in, which Big Sister E hasn't really liked. In this case, both front and back paws for Clifford have a strong elastic strap with a Velcro closure so that it can easily be adjusted or just left open for comfort. As well as allowing for a custom fit, this made it so that Big Sister E could still easily have use of her hands and could take on or off shoes without a problem.

Having used the size chart right on Costume Discounters, I was pleased to find that Clifford fit big Sister E well, with a little room to spare. Combine that with the fact that this costume is conveniently all in one piece (we have had other animal costumes that include separate head pieces, foot coverings, etc that were constantly getting misplaced) and I have no doubt that Clifford is going to be a major player in our house for years to come.

For costumes for adults, children and even pets, Costume Discounters has it all. And with their Low Price Guarantee -ensuring that if you find the same costume for less elsewhere, they'll not only match it but take an extra 20% off- you know that you're always getting a good deal.

Halloween is only three months away and dress-up time is all year round, so no matter what animal, superhero, cartoon character, television star (and much more) that your child longs to be, chances are that CostumeDiscounters.com will have a great outfit for you. And really, the pictures alone make picking out one of these cute costumes worth it. Who could turn down this much fun?
