Nutrisystem {Week 13}

Nutrisystem Beginning my fourth month with Nutrisystem and I will be facing a new set of challenges: vacation.

Even though I've eaten out at restaurants or been away from home for a night while on the program, this week will be my first true vacation since joining the Nutrisystem Nation. Big Sister E and I are hopping on a plane in a few days and jetting off to visit my mom in her sunny, warm climate for a week.

A whole week away from home and away from my routine and the gym that I've recently joined and have been really enjoying. Of course Nutrisystem will be coming with me, as the pantry-ready foods are compact and pack easily... but I guess I'll just have to see what the scale says when I get home as to how well I was able to do in a new location.

I probably won't weigh myself next Monday while I'm away, but I will be updating with all of the great tips that Nutrisystem has for staying on track while on vacation. They're really helpful to keep in mind for everyone while traveling!

As for this week, I started off doing really well and kept up with the exercise that I've been doing and was feeling good. And then the weekend rolled around and I went with Big Sister E to a birthday party where she met a certain mouse...

And I made sure to visit the salad bar, which I felt good about.

But then, there was this:

Would you believe that this amazing cake was homemade? The birthday girl's grandfather was a baker at one point and crafted this mouthwatering layered cake to celebrate the occasion... and seeing as he was there, I just felt like it would be rude to refuse the piece that was handed to me, right?

Sigh.

Yes, it was good. But I was pretty unhappy with myself afterward thinking about how that morning's workout was completely wasted just by the number of calories that was in that one luscious piece of cake.

In fact, I was still thinking about it this morning when I stepped on the scale and found...

Nutrisystem NationStarting weight: Too much

Week 1: -3.0 lbs         Week 7: -0.8 lbs
Week 2: -3.0 lbs         Week 8: -1.4 lbs
Week 3: -1.0 lbs         Week 9: -1.0 lbs
  Week 4: -1.4 lbs         Week 10: -1.0 lbs
  Week 5: -1.0 lbs         Week 11: -0.6 lbs
  Week 6: -0.8 lbs         Week 12: -1.0 lbs
Week 13: -1.0 lbs

Total loss: 17 lbs

I'm sure that one piece of cake wasn't the sole reason why I didn't lose more than a pound this week like I really wanted to, but I'm still bothered by it. I know that I feel and look better and the number that I see doesn't sum up the amount of times that I worked out and that muscle weighs more and... and... hmph.

Weight loss is a journey for everyone and all I know is that I need to keep an eye on the overall 17 pounds that I've lost because holy smokes! 17 pounds! Now to just keep it up while I'm on vacation!

  4. It's not easy for anyone to turn down a piece of homemade cake so don't be down on yourself for that. You should be proud because you keep losing, cake and all!
