What's For Dinner? Ragu Mom's the Word on Dinner can help! {$20 Visa Gift Card Giveaway}

Ragu logo{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, Amber!}

Of all of the bothersome things that might happen in my day - raining when we want to play outside, telemarketers (or worse: solicitors) trying to sell me something, a pesky fly that somehow makes it inside during the three seconds that the door is open, etc - knowing that dinnertime is coming and I have nothing planned ranks right up there amongst the most annoying.

However, one thing that always helps? Knowing that I'm not the only one experiencing the challenges that arrive around 5 or 6 p.m... which is exactly where Ragu and Mom's the Word on Dinner arrives to ease the stress for all of us.

Moms the Word on DinnerAn online community from Ragu where moms go to laugh, learn, share ideas and talk about what truly happens at dinnertime, Mom's the Word on Dinner has something for everyone. Whether you need some advice on getting a picky eater to finish their vegetables, just want to vent about last night's dinner disaster or are looking for tips that have been tried and proven, this is the place to visit.

Not only is it easy to join in on the fun conversations (surrounding topics like dinner inspiration, table manners, special memories and more), but the Mom's the Word on Dinner community has featured various videos, photos, polls and recipes since its inception.

One especially great one? The video conversation on "When dinner gets tough..." and the compromises that we all make when our table contains diners of different ages, different needs, different energy levels and more. One great tip included is from parenting expert and author, Dr. Michele Borba, who says, "Give a little leeway. You can use compromise as a tactic to your favor, e.g.: 'Do you want to eat your spaghetti or salad first?' 'Do you want your vegetables cooked or raw?' Just offer choices that you feel comfortable with."

It's definitely a conversation that is not to be missed!

What do you think? Do you have tips and tricks up your sleeve to pull out when dinner gets tough? Make sure to head over to Mom's the Word on Dinner and join in and share them (and pick up some new ones)!

As well as hosting a fun and engaging community, Ragu also wants to help one lucky person have dinner on them, because...

When I'm rushed and the day hasn't gone so well, I make something really simple, such as soup and a sandwich.

When dinner gets tough, usually due to a hectic day at work, we have soup and sandwich nite. Everybody gets basically what they want - lunch meat, grilled cheese, or PB & J and soup soothes the weary soul.

Plus, it's cheap and healthy.

I try to keep my pantry stocked with staples that I use regularly and replace them as soon as I can. I also have great neighbors and we borrow from each other often!

My biggest dilema is finding the time to cook! When I'm in a pinch I pick up a couple of garden salads at the store or drive-thru window and make spaghetti with meat sauce using Ragu, of course.

Thanks for the giveaway...when dinnertime rolls around we put on some classical music to signal to the kids that they should get in a "dinner" frame of mind: no TV playing in the other room, no texting, no phone calls, etc. They know it is family time where we share a meal & enjoy each other's company...have been doing this since they were little, and they acquired table manners at an early age.

Our hardest thing is to decide what to have for dinner. With 3 girls 4 and under it is hard to actually have them all want the same thing at once. I've learned to eat a lot of chicken lol
