When it's a friend of Big Sister E's or Little Sister B's that we're shopping for, I can simply email the mom, ask what her son or daughter likes and (hopefully) receive an easy list such as art supplies, Play-doh, Legos, cars, building blocks, etc. Easy enough, right? Head to the store, pick one of those out, and we're done!
For adults, it doesn't work that way. More often than not, if you ask a good friend what she would like for her birthday she will respond with a version of Don't be silly, you don't have to get me anything! So then what? Flowers? Hand lotion? A book?
No and no to the first two... but the book option is a good one, as quite a few people that I know enjoy kicking back with a good book in the summer (or anytime, really) and books can be meaningful, personal and enjoyable. But now that the trend is to read the latest titles through an e-reader, it makes it a little more difficult since there is no physical book to purchase, wrap and give.
Until now. With the recent launch of Livrada e-book gift cards in all Target stores, suddenly it is possible to give an e-book as a gift in a real and tangible way.
Available now in ALL Target stores, Livrada e-book gift cards are the perfect solution to making e-book gifting personal. Instead of having to forward an email confirmation or give a generic gift card, a Livrada e-book card is an actual gift card, sold at retail, that represents a specific e-book title — and is in fact designed to represent the cover of the book.
Your recipient will not only see the book cover art, but will also be able to read the included description, much like a traditional book jacket. They then quickly and easily redeem and download the specific e-book onto their e-reader device (currently all Kindle and NOOK devices, but Livrada will be expanding to other e-readers shortly) and then start reading!
Beginning with six New York Times bestselling titles, you can currently pick up a Livrada e-book gift card for:
- Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
- The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson
- State of Wonder by Ann Patchett
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
- 44 Charles Street by Danielle Steel
Whether your next gift is for the owner of a Nook or Kindle, Livrada e-book gift cards couldn't be much easier. They are found right off the shelf, given as thoughtful, tangible gifts, and downloaded onto an e-reader with only a few clicks of the mouse. These really do appear just like a smaller, flat version of the actual book itself...
...so there's no reason to give the mundane emailed gift card again. Instead, I'm anticipating which bestsellers Livrada will add to their collection next!
And, thanks to their generosity, one person will soon be able to give the gift of a great read (or keep it for themselves), because...
One lucky person will win a Fifty Shades of Grey Livrada
e-book gift card!
