NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder {Review & Giveaway}

NERF logo
The inevitable happened recently, although I thought I had at least another year before I needed to be prepared for it.

While talking to a friend, her first grade son and Big Sister E were chatting... until she turned to me and curiously blurted out, "Mama! Is Santa Claus not real?"

Well, DANG.

Fortunately I was able to give her the don't interrupt me while I'm talking look with a quick, "We'll talk about it later," and that seemed to satisfy her. Even more fortunately, for a girl that seems to remember pretty much everything, the subject has managed to disappear from her mind. WHEW.

While I have a few ideas as to how to broach the conversation that we'll eventually have to have, for now I have a feeling that Big Sister E will be plenty prepared to try to catch the big guy himself thanks to being able to see (and record!) in the dark with her NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder.

NERF Nightvision goggles

Created in collaboration with Sakar International Inc, the NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder allow kids to navigate, spy and record day or night so that they never miss a detail. This is far from simply a plastic toy, this is a high quality tool that can turn any child into a top secret super agent with hardly any work!

As I looked over the box, I began to wonder if maybe I could just keep these for myself. I could be the next 007, couldn't I?

NERF Nightvision Goggles review

Measuring in at 3.4" x 7" x 8.6," these goggles are almost ready for spy navigation right out of the box.

NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles review

After installing four AA batteries (not included), it's easy to see that nearly all of the controls are conveniently located right on top.

NERF Nightvision Camcorder

With the ability to zero in on a target anytime (the Infrared Nightvision allows you to easily spot people moving through the dark), these NERF Goggles can actually see up to 50' away... in the dark! Just peer through the comfortable, rubber-lined eye piece...

NERF Night vision Goggles

...and the optical lens provides a crisp, clear picture that can be zoomed in up to 4x magnification.

Even better, thanks to the SD slot right on the side of the goggles...

NERF Nightvision Goggles SD Card

...kids can not only see in the dark, but they can record (with video and photos) their findings as well!

As all secret agents surely want to go back and watch their discoveries, kids can playback their videos or browse their photos right on the LCD screen. Or, for a more permanent way of saving and sharing their findings, the included USB cable quickly pops into the USB port for easy uploading.

NERF Nightvision Goggles USB

Whether sleuthing for Santa in the dark or recording various colored birds while out on a walk, the NERF Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder are sure to be a hit for your child's next daytime or nighttime adventure.

Designed for ages 5 and up, I'm pretty sure that I don't know a child that wouldn't be thrilled with the quality of this gadget and all of the high tech features it includes. How often do you see infrared lights on a kid's toy?

NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles

With an MSRP of $89.99, the NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder are currently on sale on Amazon for $74.99 (with free shipping). While that is a higher cost than many toys out there, these are truly more than just a cheap kids' plaything. I have no doubt that these will be bringing smiles, creativity, joy, pretend play and all-out fun for many years to come.

And, thanks to the generosity of NERF, one person will soon have to be on the lookout for the secret agent in their household as well, because...

One lucky person will win a pair of NERF Infrared Nightvision Goggles with Camcorder!
