The tornado in Oklahoma, the super typhoon in the Philippines, Lance Armstrong's doping confession, the Pope stepping down, the Manti Te'o hoax, the cruise ship disasters, the Boston Marathon explosions, George Zimmerman being found not guilty, three hostages breaking free from their decade of capture in Cleveland, Paula Deen's poor choice of words, twerking, the birth of Prince George, the government shutdown, school shootings...
Whether or not they seem recent, these (and many other) big news stories filled the headlines day in and day out of 2013 and we're reaching the point where it is time to say goodbye to the year as a whole.
But what fun would it be to just close up the calendar and move on to 2014 without a little uniqueness and creativity?
That's exactly why the beloved Play-Doh brand has stepped up and chosen ten moments that have captured the hearts of people from all over the country... and sculpted them out of 100% Play-Doh compound! What better way to celebrate 2013 than with "A Year in Play-Doh Moments," in all of its colorful innovation?
From celebrity buzz and top sports moments to a new culinary trend, Play-Doh put together 2013's top moments in sculptures that are sure to bring a smile to your face!
1. Congratulations on your World Series win, Boston Red Sox!
2. A trip back to the 90's with an 'N Sync reunion!
3. Was there anyone not eagerly anticipating the arrival of Prince George?
4. This darkened football stadium pays homage to the power outage at Super Bowl XLVII!
5. I'll never comprehend how Diana Nyad swam all the way from Cuba to Florida — what an absolutely amazing feat!
Wondering what the other half of the Year in Play-Doh Moments might include? Then you'll just have to head over to the Play-Doh Facebook page to see them all! I always love the way that the Play-Doh brand comes up with creative, colorful, fun ways to tie in their classic product with so many other parts of our lives!
From the original canister of a single color to the many, many creative accessories, tools, toys, playsets and more that are now available, Play-Doh is one name that has a place in all of our lives... and now, as a part of 2013 history as well!
And, thanks to their generosity, one person will be able to be "out with the old, in with the new" for the new year because...
One lucky person will win a Play-Doh Trash Tossin' Rowdy the Garbage Truck playset!
A big thank you to Hasbro for providing a Play-Doh Trash Tossin' Rowdy playset for me as well as for one lucky giveaway winner. The opinions shared are my own and honest and if you really need to see more, click here to see how I roll.

The end of my brother-in-laws fight with AIDS, pneumonia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, respiratory distress, and a weakened immune system and loss of bone marrow due to chemotherapy. It was a valiant fight but a person can only fight so much. I'm glad his fight is over, even though I wish he were still around but healthy like he was for so many previous years before his HIV swapped over to AIDS which in essence made his life a living hell, and I hope he is now at peace. I just hope I gave him some small level of piece while he was still with us on this plane of existence where we could converse with hi.
