The Perfect Baby Duo: Maxi-Cosi Mico Nxt Infant Car Seat and Maxi-Taxi Stroller {Review}

As a veteran parent, there are times when I look back at the purchasing choices that my husband and I made when our girls were infants (or even before they had arrived) and shake my head. We all have those "if I knew then what I know now" situations, right?

Among the things that I would change is the stroller that we bought before Big Sister E was born. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice stroller and it worked just fine... but did we need the amount of bulk or could we have done with a few more features that I now know would have been extremely helpful? Of course.

If I had to do it all over again, this time I would focus on the infant car seat itself and, along with the safety, comfort and durability, I would look for a lightweight car seat carrier to go with it instead of a full stroller. Something that was simple to use, easy to push or store, and would ensure that all the times that my baby fell asleep in her car seat that she would be able to happily stay snoozing.

Most recently, I've been loving that all of that (and more!) is available with the Maxi-Cosi Mico Nxt infant car seat and the Maxi-Cosi Maxi-Taxi.

It was time to put them to the test!

While Maxi-Cosi was gracious enough to send a Mico Nxt to me directly, I had the opportunity to test out the ordering process on Target.com for the Maxi-Taxi. How is it that I've shopped at Target for so many years, yet I can't remember the last time I shopped on their website?

Thankfully, it only took a matter of minutes for me to visit Target.com, add the Maxi-Taxi to my cart, get excited about the free shipping, and place my order.

Unfortunately there was a problem with fulfilling my initial order, which had to be cancelled. However, once the Maxi-Taxi was back in stock and ready to go, I simply replaced my order and was happy to see it arrive a short time later.

While the Mico Nxt was clearly ready for use right out of the box, I initially looked at the various pieces and parts of the Maxi-Taxi and wondered how much time it would take to assemble them.

Fortunately, Maxi-Cosi knows that parents are busy and don't have hours to spend constructing their products, as it took a mere few minutes before I had the Maxi-Taxi snapped together (no tools needed) and ready for use.

I don't think that these two items could get much better!

First, for infants from birth to 12 months, who weigh 5-22 pounds and are 19"-29" in height, the Maxi-Cosi Mico Nxt includes a convenient stay-in-car adjustable base, an infant head support for smaller babies, an adjustable sun canopy, a 5-point harness with up-front harness adjustment, and Side Impact Protection for complete safety.

As a great bonus, compared to similar car seats, the Mico Nxt is the lightest premium infant car seat available. If you've ever carried an infant seat anywhere, you know that they get extremely heavy very quickly, so having the lightest seat possible can make a big difference!

When it comes to turning the Mico Nxt infant seat into a complete travel system that can be used from birth, the Maxi-Taxi is the perfect accompaniment.

Simply slip the adapters into place and you are ready to snap the car seat right into the Maxi-Taxi while your little one stays snuggly and secure (alternatively, removing the seat from the frame is done easily by pressing the lever buttons on either side).

That's it before the two of you are ready to go!

Along with the huge convenience of being able to quickly and easily move your infant seat right into it, the Maxi-Taxi includes a bevy of great features all of its own.

Parents have plenty of space devoted to carrying all sorts of belongings thanks to the full size cup holder (which can be placed on either side), the Parent Tray with two zippered pockets and a clasp to hold it open, if desired, and the large storage basket underneath that provides ample room for a diaper bag plus more.

The lightweight frame of the Maxi-Taxi is not only extremely easy to maneuver thanks to its large swivel/locking wheels and one-touch back brakes, but the entire thing folds down or pops open in a matter of seconds.

Its small footprint is then easily able to fit into the trunk of a car or, thanks to the fact that it stands on its own, won't take up much room in a closet, garage or other storage area.

Together, the Mico Nxt and Maxi-Taxi are the duo that would make it possible for any parent to head to the store, out for a walk, on vacation, to run errands and much more with ease!

From the moment the Neckline Bag in the Black Melange color options (there are four total) arrived, I couldn't stop running my hands over it!

I adore the modern simplicity of this bag and, when it came to designing a way to travel fashionably smart, Lassig did just that. The Neckline Bag includes pockets galore, both inside and outside, that result in your possessions being easily accessible while still staying perfectly secure.

Even before I had unzipped the main compartment, I was admiring the large insulated outer pocket that would be great for keeping food items stored and the four 'bonus' compartments at the base of each handle. No more digging around for my sunglasses, keys, a pen, my phone or more with these pockets right there waiting for me!

However, as much as I was impressed with the outside of the Neckline Bag, then I opened it up and felt my love grow even further!

Lassig not only included great accessories (e.g. a water-repellent, padded changing mat; an insulated, removable bottle holder with clip; hooks to attach it directly to stroller handles; an additional, adjustable shoulder strap, and a removable zipper pouch)...

...but there is no shortage of storage space as well.

Need to stash a wet bathing suit after your trip to the beach? Use the water-repellent wet pocket. Want easy access to wet wipes to clean up all sorts of sticky messes while traveling? There is a dedicated compartment for baby wipes so you'll never search for them. There is even a removable compartment designed to hold baby food jars so that this bag can transition into soft foods right along with your little one!

All in all, I have yet to find a reason that the Green Label Neckline Bag wouldn't be the perfect travel bag.

While we've all seen handbags that have claimed to be multifunctional, this one truly conveys the concept of sustainability and, with its appealing unique shape, will easily transform to work for all of the different needs that women have and which role in our lives we are in.
