pediped footwear's Memory Foam Technology takes comfort to a new level

Lately we've been pulling out items to sell in a garage sale in hopes of clearing away some of the clutter around here. There are so many clothes, toys and gear from when my girls were babies that is just never going to be needed again, so why not let someone else get some use out of it?

Of the few things that have pained me to think of parting with, high on the list are the pairs of shoes we have from pediped footwear. They're just so... cute. You can find pictures of the styles that we own in the pediped giveaway I hosted this past winter, as well as a whole list of reasons why we love these shoes.

So what's new in pediped footwear?

Launched in 2004 by Angela and Brian Edgeworth in their quest for the perfect soft-soled shoe for their first daughter, the exceptional quality, unsurpassed comfort and distinctive styling have made pediped footwear one of the fastest-growing children's footwear brands in the United States. Sold in over 3000 stores in the U.S. and 40 countries worldwide, pediped offers more than 120 designs for boys and girls between their Originals (soft-soled for newborns to age 2+) and Flex (rubber-soled for children 1-5 years) collections.

pediped has now introduced the next generation in ultimate comfort for children by including Memory Foam Technology (MFT) in their signature ballet flats and sandals for boys and girls. The responsive and high-density MFT insoles mold to a child's foot and spring back when pressed to absorb shock and minimize impact. The insoles also react to body temperature, distribute weight and provide support where needed, creating a custom fit that is comparable to none.

Best of all, this ultra comfortable technology is available in many adorable styles including the Penny ballet flat, the Megan sandal with flowers, the Phoebe with rhinestones, the Gillian and the Brody, a rugged sandal for boys. The shoes are made of an all leather upper, lining and all natural rubber sole. Upholding its reputation as a leader in the children's footwear industry, pediped is the only U.S. children's footwear company to offer a complete line of shoes with memory foam technology.

pediped footwear's MFT line is available now at select retailers and on their website in EU sizes 20 - 29 (U.S. sizes 5 - 12.5) and retails for $48 - $52 per pair. There will also be new fall/winter 2010 MFT styles from pediped debuting this July!

(Other than the information provided by pediped footwear's press release, I was not provided with anything for posting this. However, I will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a pair of pediped MFT shoes and who wouldn't like that?)

Winners!

Recently Big Sister E caught glimpse of the box of Yummy Dough in our cupboard (containing the two remaining colors) and has been asking to play with it ever since. What kid wouldn't want to combine the fun of play dough with a cookie dough-like taste? We definitely had a good time with it before, so I'm thinking that in the near future we'll get to see what fun yellow and green creations we can make (and eat). The lucky person who will also get to craft and then snack is...

Congratulations, Betty N!

Were you able to pick your favorite design from Sew Cute Creations? It was a hard decision, wasn't it? There are so many cute styles for so many different occasions... or just for no reason other than being adorable. That Barbara sure is talented! And the lucky person who will get to see that for themselves in the form of a custom personalized shirt is...

Congratulations, Kristy!

Were you impressed with the great fundraising program run by Equal Exchange? What a great way to make a difference in lives all over the world! And, mmmm, chocolate. It's probably a good thing that they didn't send me a whole case of their Organic & Fairly Traded Dark Chocolate Minis, because I would have eaten those bite-size tasty yummies in a matter of days. I hope that the lucky person who is getting these will have more willpower than I do...

Congratulations, Natalie!

Thanks so much to everyone who entered these giveaways, have a great weekend!

1-800-FLOWERS.COM {Review & Giveaway} The "Summer of Smiles" mission

{This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to those who entered!}

One job that I always thought I would enjoy was doing deliveries for a florist. Being able to see the looks on the recipients' faces when they find a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting at the door... Is there someone out there that isn't amazed and delighted when that happens? If so, I haven't met them yet.

So, when I heard that 1-800-FLOWERS.COM wanted my help promoting their "Summer of Smiles" mission to spread smiles across the nation... well, it was a no-brainer as to who I wanted to surprise. As much as I'd love to send flowers to everyone I know, there's just one person who deserves to have a little cheer sent her way as a reminder that she's amazing.

Mom, you know I love you!

A bright, vibrant person herself, my mom loves warm, cheerful shades that bring a pop of color to the world. And when I saw the Martha Stewart Party Time Bouquet, I knew that it would be the perfect choice to send to her to bring a smile. How could she not be cheered up by the hot pink Gerbera daisies, orange spray roses, large lavender roses, light green spider mums and great greenery in a bamboo-inspired vase?

This beautiful medium-sized bouquet fills the vase just enough that no matter which side you are looking at, you end up with a great view. Plus, my mom commented on the slight sweet scent that this arrangement provides - just enough to be able to take a deep breath and relax but not too much to be overpowering. Beautiful perfection!

I also really appreciated hearing from my mom that all of the flowers included in the Martha Stewart Party Time Bouquet were packaged well and were fresh and bright when they arrived, with some not even fully opened. It was great knowing that she would have a few more days of watching the roses fully bloom and add more color. Not only was I able to bring her a smile on the day these flowers were delivered, but for days to come!

With summer finally in full swing, there are so many occasions to celebrate. Birthdays, graduations, weddings, anniversaries and so many more are great reasons to let someone know how much you care by sending flowers. And, to send a little sunshine to someone you know, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM has a floral arrangement or gift basket for every style and taste to fit your budget.

Browsing their website is easy, as you can search by occasion, same-day delivery, particular flowers that you would like to include and more (there's even a Justin Bieber Bouquet, who knew?). Even though it's hard to choose a favorite from their vast selection, whichever arrangement you pick from 1-800-FLOWERS.COM will be sure to bring a smile to the lucky recipient's face. The "Summer of Smiles" mission has already added both my mom and myself to their list!

Plus, thanks to the generosity of 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, one lucky person will also be able to surprise someone with a smile, because...

One lucky person will win a $50 gift card to 1-800-FLOWERS.COM!

Infantino Jumbo Wheel Play Space and Twist & Fold Activity Gym {Review}

Even though it's been a few years since Big Sister E was a baby, I can still remember the main topics of conversation and questions that other new moms and I discussed. How do I know if they are getting enough to eat? How much sleep do they need? Is it too early to be on a nap schedule? Can I start solids earlier than six months?

And then there was always the common one: I know tummy time is important, but how do I get my child to like it? I used to just lay out a baby blanket on the floor and sit in front of Big Sister E with a few toys to keep her occupied... and I'm pretty sure it wasn't all that thrilling for either one of us. Fortunately, she was laid back enough to put up with it, but it sure would have been nice to have something a little more entertaining and enjoyable for both of us.

Out of all of the play mats that I've seen, the one that really would have been nice to have is the Jumbo Wheel Play Space from Infantino.

Right away when I opened the box, I was already interested in checking out the 20+ fun and eye-catching features that this mat provides. From the bright colors to the variety of textures, the Jumbo Wheel Play Space measures a whopping 47" in diameter, which is more than enough room to lay a baby down and not worry that they are just going to roll right off in one swoop.

Everywhere I looked, there was another attention-grabbing element: crinkly ears to grab, rings to attach other toys or to act as teethers, a removable mirror to make fun faces into, a squeaker to surprise and delight and a soft flower that attaches with Velcro that plays music. Is there a way for a baby to not be mesmerized by all the amazing things there are to see here?

In fact, even though Little Sister B is long past tummy time, her eyes lit up the moment I brought the Jumbo Wheel Play Space out and she was ready to pull it out of my hand if I didn't lay it out for her to examine.

Having a great time thoroughly checking out each and every aspect (making her "O wow" face at almost all of them), Little Sister B was more than content to hang out, read a few books and just relax on this soft mat. When I went to pick it up to move it, she was definitely not pleased and it went right back down for more entertainment - I'd call that a hit.

As an added bonus, the Jumbo Wheel Play Space can be rolled or folded right up for traveling or to put in storage when it is not being used. Stick it in a drawer or closet to make more room around the house or toss it your car and you'll be ready to pull it right back out when you arrive at Grandma's. Along with not requiring any set-up, this play mat is machine washable (after you remove the detachable toys) so you don't have to worry if it gets dusty... or spit up on. An all-around great place for babies to hang out!

However, if you're looking for something with a little more action, Infantino's Twist & Fold Activity Gym is just the thing to encourage reaching and movement in your little one.

Set-up for this activity gym took only a few moments, as all that was needed was to clip the support bars right in underneath the mat itself and push straight down on the plastic orange top. The bars click into place, making the whole thing sturdy and strong for plenty of baby enjoyment.

The soft, cushioned mat provides a comfortable place to lie down, whether for babies on their tummy (there's even a movable plush bolster to prop up on) or on their back to enjoy the view. Looking up, a baby can get a kick out of seeing themselves in the adjustable mirror (both of my kids always loved their own reflection) or play with the four linkable animal toys. Little Sister B was a bit too large for this one, but still spent a little quiet time checking out the fun features this activity gym provides.

As well as the bright colors and patterns, Little Sister B had a good time with the variety of crinkling and music she was able to discover from the hanging animals. Batting each one back and forth, she looked at me and laughed at having such easy access to her new friends.

The really unique part of the Twist & Fold Activity Gym comes when it is time to put it away for the day. One slight push and turn of the dial at the top of the gym and the whole thing folds down and Velcros shut into one convenient bundle. For small living spaces or travel, this is a great item to have for saving room or bringing the fun to any location. Entertaining, portable and the mat is washable? What a great combination!

Both the Jumbo Wheel Play Space and the Twist & Fold Activity Gym are cute, bright and fun. Easily adaptable for any age baby, it doesn't matter if your little one just likes to lay back and relax or is turning into a little explorer, these mats will provide hours of fun! Having gotten to try these, along with the Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer, I can see why Infantino is known for their captivating, entertaining, stylish and no-fuss products. When they say they know babies, they really know babies!

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation. However, other than the products, I was not provided with anything or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion of these items.
