ShopYourWay Makes it Easy to Enter and Win with the New Win Your Way Sweepstakes Site! {#WinYourWay}

Sometimes I find it hard to remember what life was like back before the internet.

People looked things up... in encyclopedias? Before you tried out a new restaurant, you... went there and looked at the menu in hopes that they served a dish that you liked?

And when you wanted to purchase something, you were relegated to... simply what you could find in your local stores? If you didn't like the selection of dresses or shoes or alarm clocks or curling irons at your nearby retailer, you pretty much had the option of driving to a different store or...? Going home empty-handed?

Yikes. No wonder my daughters look at me wide-eyed when I say that computers weren't really around when I was a kid.

Fortunately for those of us in today's day and age, online shopping has become a daily occurrence and the convenience and ease of it are aspects that we already couldn't live without. But that's not to mention the bonuses — things like cash back and rewards points that benefit loyal shoppers. Why not save or earn money when you can?

Case in point: the ShopYourWay Rewards Program!

Shop Your Way Rewards

In case you missed my previous posts about ShopYourWay, this great program saves you money simply by shopping at a few of your favorite stores —Sears and Kmart. By signing up, you immediately receive a multitude of benefits such as custom offers throughout the year based on your shopping, sale notifications, a dedicated customer service call center, and points that can be redeemed to save on future purchases.

Therefore, it makes sense that if you love to shop, you'll love ShopYourWay. And, by extending that thought, if you love to enter sweepstakes and win awesome prizes, then you'll love their new platform, Win Your Way!

Participating in Win Your Way couldn't be much easier, as you simply have to be a registered ShopYourWay Rewards member (FREE!) and, upon logging into your account, you'll find a long list of active sweepstakes that are available to enter.

I love how Win Your Way lists my sweepstakes in order of ending time (with those ending soon first), as that way I can quickly browse through and know which ones I need to enter before they expire.

Sears ShopYourWay Round Table Blogger Event {#SYW12}

Before I had kids, I never wanted to go shopping alone. I just felt weird walking up and down the aisles by myself... and besides, who would I ask when I needed an opinion on which shirt looked better or if the jeans were too long (I'm short, so they always are)?

Fast-forward to today and if I can run to the grocery store, department store, craft store or more by myself, it's almost a mini-vacation. No one is complaining about how long I'm taking and there aren't any whines about being tired of walking or if we can get candy out of the machines when we are ready to leave.

However... the peace and quiet of shopping alone comes with a price: no husband or friend to ask if I should buy the turquoise or the maroon t-shirt or if we need more strands of white Christmas lights (I never feel like we have enough). Fortunately, it is now possible to bring along not just a pal but a whole network of shopping buddies thanks to Sears and ShopYourWay.

shop your way rewards

More than just another app for shopping, ShopYourWay is an entire community of virtual friends that can answer questions or help you out with the touch of a button.

Even better, you can automatically collect points (which equate to money, of course!), receive custom deals just for you, make returns without a receipt... and much, much more. Who doesn't want to save their pennies while also feeling like a rock star when they're out shopping?

deals designed just for you

To find out more about this innovative new app (and more), I was fortunate to be invited to Chicago by Sears to learn firsthand about the ins and outs of the social shopping world that they have created.

We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Felix, where the comfort, silence and darkness of my room was the perfect setting for a luxurious afternoon nap and a great night's sleep...

Hotel Felix Chicago

...and we had a scrumptious dinner at the drool-worthy Zed451, an out-of-this world experience of soups, salads, vegetables, breads and meats that were served table-side. They were even so gracious to have a stunning vegetarian plate put together just for me (and the two other vegetarians in our party) so that we weren't at all left out!

Zed451

After a short stroll over to the Sears Craftsman Experience workroom the following morning, we had a tasty breakfast and were treated to a visit with a photographer from Sears Portrait Studios who took new head shots for anyone who was interested. Considering I've always used a random photo that I've had on hand, I can't wait to see my new professional results when they're ready!

professional head shots

When it came time to get down to business, it was great to hear about all of the various features of the ShopYourWay app and how it works. I loved that Sears really wanted our opinions and thoughts and that they were able to look at the positives and negatives and know that they were working to make as many improvements as possible.

Sears brought in bloggers from every different genre, so I really enjoyed hearing the viewpoints from bloggers that focus on deals, reviews, humor, tech, parenting and more. We all want to save when we shop (and with Shop Your Way Rewards, the more you shop, the more points you'll earn!), so bringing together minds from across the blogging spectrum provided lots of thoughts on the whole social shopping experience.

We also had the chance to take a peek into the Kenmore studios (where videos are made), get up close and personal with great appliances...

Kenmore appliances

...and have a tasty lunch provided by a program that was new to me, mygofer.com. If you haven't heard of mygofer yet, you'll love finding out more about the next generation in shopping and the way that it makes it possible to combine the convenience of online shopping with the ability to receive your purchases the same day.

mygofer.com knows that we're all busy, busy, busy, so they created a shopping experience that helps you get what you need, when you need it. If you need groceries, they'll bring you groceries! If you need diapers, lawn furniture or cleaning supplies, they'll bring those to you as well... they'll even go to a store other than Sears or Kmart! How cool is that?

mygofer

Are you ready to start shopping and saving? As well as the great features of the Shop Your Way Rewards program, Sears has made it even easier with their Personal Shopper program. Who doesn't want someone else to do all the legwork in finding the best products out there?

And that's where I come in! I have a Personal Shopper account and all you have to do is join me! It's free to join and completely free to use, but now you'll be able to send me out looking for the best gadgets, tools, toys, apparel and much more that are on your shopping list. Let's shop!

My travel expenses for this trip were covered by ShopYourWay, however, all thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

Our New and Improved Outdoor Holiday Decor! {#CBias #Searsrealcheer}

With Christmas only days away, I'm not a big fan of the stress and chaos that seems to be swirling around everywhere I go.

On the other hand, I love this time of year and the way that a short drive anywhere in the neighborhood reveals a plethora of lights and decorations that celebrate the holidays. From classic white to blinking red and green to fun snowflakes-falling lights down the block (I've never seen those before - very cool!), the cheerfulness of seeing anything from a flashing candy cane to a snowman window cling tends to brighten my mood.

Which would make you think that our house is well-decorated, wouldn't it? At the beginning of this month I wrote about our outdoor decor (or lack of it) and how my husband does put up some outdoor lights for us... but that they aren't really his "thing."

It's not entirely his fault though, really. Aside from some simple strands of lights, we didn't really have much else that would make any sort of impact in the various open areas of our yard and entryway.

When it came to empty spots like these?

Eh, I could ignore them.

Because really, it was the front entryway that bothered me the most.

Aside from a single wreath, there isn't a light or a decoration in sight. How festive and joyful can a house feel without anything to greet you at the door?

Fortunately, we were given the opportunity to head over to Sears and do a little shopping in their Outdoor Decor section (see our shopping trip here!) to spruce things up around the ol' homestead this season.

Although our local Sears didn't have the largest selection around, we were still able to find two Green Light Spiral Trees that were just the thing to fill the empty spot to help light your way up our front walk.

Taking them home, my husband and I were happy to find that the assembly for these trees wasn't difficult at all. By setting up the main post in the middle and pulling the center of the spiral up to the top...

...that was it!

As these trees are so lightweight, it was easy to pick them up and walk them right out to the open location that we had planned.

Even better when we turned off the outside light!

Even though these trees aren't what we originally had in mind when we set off for Sears, I'm really happy with the way that they turned out and how the addition of something so simple could make such an impact. Compare these photos to the one above of the empty front doorway and it's not hard to see that the house has gone from blah to holiday-ready!

Plus, as the setup is so easy, it isn't as though having these Spiral Trees would cause us to procrastinate decorating in the future. Maybe next year we won't even wait until the last minute! As an added bonus, these trees store back in their boxes so flat and compact that I don't have to worry about finding space to store anything large or bulky.

Instead, I'm heading over to add a picture of our newly-lit door to the Sears Cheer Tree (I love seeing everyone's great decor!) and am looking forward to having these in our collection next year and for many more years in the future... and who knows? Maybe we'll continue to add more outdoor decor from Sears as the years go on. For now, we're ready for the holidays to arrive!

Outdoor Holiday Decor: We Need Help! {#CBias #Searsrealcheer}

I'm sure that we're not the only ones who do this, but every year my husband and I declare that the following year we are going to be more organized and timely and on-the-ball.

No, I'm not talking about making New Years' resolutions, I'm talking about decorating for the holidays.

We manage to get our Christmas tree up in a reasonable time (and trimmed, which is a job my husband refuses to do), but when it comes to the outside of the house, we seem to always miss the prime time. We're not thinking in advance enough to get the lights up in the fall when it's still slightly warm out... but then suddenly it's freezing cold and who wants to stand outside fiddling with strands of tiny lights when there is snow covering everything?

As the inside decorations are my duty, that means that the outside decor is left to my husband... which results in lights wound onto some of the bushes and maybe along the deck. I love the man, but standing out there in the cold ensuring that each strand is laid just right isn't his thing. I can't really blame him, although, at the same time, I wouldn't mind if the results were just a little more... I don't know, more.

Can you see the single strand of lights randomly wound around? Pretty thrilling.

We have a clear, open space in our front yard that we've always thought would work well with a larger holiday display, but the question has always been what in the world do we put there?

Fortunately, we had the opportunity to see if Sears could help fulfill our decorating needs. From big and bright to small and modest, I browsed through the Sears Holiday Shop and found a variety of fun items that could help fill our empty space.

Something here by the door, maybe?

And a fun display over here by the tree? This spot is just calling out for an inflatable snowman, don't you think?

My husband has actually always talked about adding inflatable decor, so when I saw the variety of Airblown items, I knew that he would get a kick out of them!

Heading to Sears, we oohed and aahed over the Christmas tree decorations on our way to the (small) section of outdoor decor. See our full (humorous) shopping trip in slideshow format here!

Fortunately, the decor was located directly next to the Toy Shop, so both of my kids were immediately entertained enough to let my husband and I browse through the available choices.

With only a tiny fraction of what was shown online actually available in-store, I was disappointed to see that the only inflatable item was a Disney Carousel... no happy snowmen in sight.

I found it hard to believe that someone would rather buy this strange purple hippo than an inflatable snowman!

And don't even get me started on my thoughts on this panda (who has a broken arm and is missing his scarf, hat and an ear). Really?

With the slim pickings available, we ended up selecting two Green Light Spiral Trees and have plans to try them out near the front door as well as directly in front of the house.

For our next holiday decor shopping, I think we'll be sure to take advantage of Sears' free shipping offers as well as their guarantee to order an item online and pick it up easily in-store, because I still see this guy in our future!

For now, I'm excited to put together our Light Trees and see how they look and how much more festive they make our yard. When we're done with that, I'm also looking forward to adding a picture of our decorations to the Sears Cheer Tree so that we can be a part of this fun holiday decorating inspiration!

Stay tuned for the before and after pictures in the upcoming weeks... but, for now, I'd love to hear about your holiday decor. Do you go all out? Skip it entirely? What kind of items do you prefer to use to cheer up your outdoor space?

Taking the Sears Holiday Shopping Challenge

Sears logoI have to admit that I get tired just thinking about shopping for the holidays.

I do like finding the perfect items (especially when they're a good deal) and I get enjoyment out of wrapping them and seeing them sitting there all festive... but it seems like once Thanksgiving draws near, everything to do with shopping starts to seem so overwhelming.

I'm not a fan of crowds or lines or getting up at the crack of dawn, so a classic Black Friday isn't my thing. Instead, I prefer to do a mix of online and in-store shopping spread out enough to ease the stress (and again, find those good deals).

And what better way to do just that than with the Sears Holiday Shopping Challenge? Finding great items from Sears for less than $200? I had no doubt that I could cover the entire family while completing that task!

Embarking on my challenge, I was ready for my two shopping locations:

Sears online in storeDid you know you can buy something online, then stop by your nearest Sears to pick it up? Once you arrive, it'll be ready for you in five minutes - guaranteed, or you get a $5 store coupon. The best of online shopping meets the best of in-store shopping, and it's FREE.

Simply look for items online that are marked with "Store Pickup" when you search, browse or are on the Product Details page. After entering your zip code and finding your nearest store location, you'll receive a confirmation of your purchase and an email when it is ready to be picked up. Once you show up at the store with your email, you'll receive your purchase in five minutes.

Buy Online, Pick Up in Store is all a part of the Sears Real Joy Guaranteed - just making it easier for customers on so many levels!

Sears Real JoySo when it came to shopping at Sears and finding my own Real Joy this holiday season, it was easy to see that I could find everything I needed all in one place.

Starting with the great gift ideas available online in nearly every category possible, I spent some time browsing by recipient, personality, department, and more, while also taking advantage of the Sears gift finder that breaks gifts down into under $25, under $50, under $100, and luxury gifts. There were so many fun and affordable finds!

The East Point Sports Over The Door Double Shot Basketball Game (only $19.99) would keep the kids busy for quite a while...

The Craftsman Programmable Digital Tire Gauge ($14.99) as a stocking stuffer for my non-automotive-knowledge-having husband...

And the San Miguel Villanova Candle Garden ($17.99) for a soothing, relaxing, attractive gift for me...

After successfully finding a wide selection online, in store provided even more deals! Everywhere I looked there were appliances, toys, decor, tools, jewelry, accessories, and SO much more priced right for gifting. The hardest part was knowing where to even begin. One large item like a great coffeepot or mixer? Or multiple smaller items like a Brownie Maker, Legos, and a screwdriver set?

I'm especially looking for ways to relax, so the selection of massage gifts made it hard to choose just one. Can you blame me for wanting to pick one up designed for shoulders, one for feet, and one for the back?

When it comes to getting the most value for your money, Sears is a great place to look this holiday season. Your family, friends, coworkers, and more are going to be happy with what they receive and you're going to love taking advantage of the great prices online and in-store.

If that isn't enough, remember that the Sears Guarantee means that you're covered from every angle in terms of experiencing Real Joy:
  • Satisfaction Guarantee
  • Lowest Price Guarantee
  • Free Shipping (Can't find your item in store? Sears will ship it for free!)
  • Ready in 5 Minutes Guarantee
  • Return/Exchange in 5 Guarantee
  • Craftsman Hand Tool Lifetime Guarantee (if a covered Craftsman hand tool ever fails, they will repair or replace it for free)
  • Free Holiday Shipping on qualifying items with promo code RealJoy
  • Layaway (lock in low prices while getting everything on your wish list with Sears layaway)
Ready to take the Sears Holiday Shopping Challenge as well? Every day through December 24 Sears is giving their Facebook fans a chance to win a $200 Sears gift card so that you can take part - visit their Facebook page for more details and be sure to enter.

How has your holiday shopping been going? Have you checked out the great deals at Sears and entered to win a gift card?

As a member of the Sears Holiday Blogger Ambassador Program, I am receiving product and compensation from Sears. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are honest and my own.
