Traveling With Children: Comfort {Travel Buddies Review & Giveaway}

The first flight that Big Sister E and I took on our recent vacation was scheduled to take off right at her naptime. I figured that it could either work for or against me, in that she would either just go to sleep on the plane or she would... well, I didn't really want to consider the other option.

Therefore, I did all I could to make sure that she was as cozy and comfortable as possible - or at least as much as could be when confined to an airplane seat - to help lull her into dreamland. The number one thing on my list for that? An ultra-soft, cuddly plush Travel Buddies Children's Neck Pillow.


Big Sister E knew that I had her special Giraffe pillow tucked safely in our bag, as she had been eager to use it ever since it had arrived earlier in the week. I had let her give it a few hugs while taking it out of the package but then had whisked it away so that it would be a treat for the plane. Sure enough, almost as soon as we were settled in, I heard, "I have my Giraffe now?"

I couldn't blame her, really. These pillows are the perfect combination of cuteness, comfort and softness and are just the right size to fit around a child's neck to help prevent their head from falling every which way as they try to relax. Available in a whole zoo of friendly animals, Travel Buddies also provide a touch of added security for kids and give them a stuffed pal to snuggle with as they (hopefully) fall asleep.

I can personally vouch for them working, as only minutes into our travels, Big Sister E and her Giraffe had settled in quite nicely together:


Big Sister E was so taken with her Giraffe that she wore it around in the airport between flights and received multiple comments and compliments on it. From grandmothers to other kids to the pilot on the next plane, everyone thought having a neck pillow specifically for children was a great idea.

When it comes time to travel with kids, whether a short drive in the car or a long flight, having a travel pillow/friend for your child can really help make a difference between being tired and uncomfortable and being content and happy - and, with any luck, asleep.
