ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes Featuring One Direction {Review} #ToothTunes1D

Arm & Hammer Tooth Tunes logo
From the first time Big Sister E was able to pick out her own toothbrush at the store years ago — a shiny new purple one — she has been a big fan of oral hygiene. Add to that the fact that her Kindergarten class recently did a whole unit on keeping their mouths as healthy as possible and sometimes I think she would spend half of the day in the bathroom scrubbing away.

I need to brush my teeth, she'll declare, walking decisively into the bathroom when I'm trying to get us out the door in the morning. What mom is going to argue with that?

But while the actual act of brushing her teeth is one that she enjoys, my husband and I have been sure to focus on the important aspects that aren't to be forgotten, such as brushing long enough, using vertical strokes, brushing all sides of the teeth, etc.

While some of these will continue to improve with practice and as she gets older, we have now ditched short brushing times or searching for a timer thanks to ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes.

One Direction What Makes You Beautiful

The only toothbrush with one-of-a-kind Music In Your Mouth technology, ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes are able to stream sound vibrations from the bristles of the toothbrush through the teeth, allowing kids to hear the music while they brush. Just turn it on and start brushing to hear two minutes of toe-tapping music directly through your teeth and straight into your head!

Not only do kids love being able to bust a move to their favorite tunes, but the fact that each toothbrush automatically features two minutes of music does a great job of encouraging longer brushing for kids to achieve the dentist's recommended time.

ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes launched in 2012 featuring seven great music options:
  • "All Day" performed by Cody Simpson
  • "Dynamite" performed by Taio Cruz
  • "I Gotta Feeling" performed by Black Eyed Peas
  • "If I Ruled the World" performed by Big Time Rush
  •  "Round & Round" performed by Selena Gomez & The Scene
  • "Tonight, Tonight" performed by Hot Chelle Rae
  • "We Will Rock You" performed by Queen
But as much as each of these tunes would have been great for Big Sister E, it seems that it is perfect timing that Church Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of ARM & HAMMER, recently announced that pop sensation One Direction has joining the ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes branded products family.

Available in two chart-topping single One Direction options — "What Makes You Beautiful" or "One Thing" — the ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes featuring One Direction are the only toothbrushes that play One Direction in North America.

Big Sister E was definitely was pulling to remove her "What Makes You Beautiful" brush out of the package the instant that it arrived!

As her ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes toothbrush came with a battery already installed (love that!), Big Sister E had it out and ready to go in no time at all and with no instruction needed. Simply press the button and start brushing after the beep!

Tooth Tunes review

Success! Not only does Big Sister E find it really cool that her toothbrush plays "What Makes You Beautiful" right through her mouth, but hearing it out loud makes the rest of the family get into the groove as well.

There have been multiple times when she will be brushing her teeth and I'll find Little Sister B dancing away out in the hallway!

I have also fielded many questions as to when Little Sister B can receive her own Tooth Tunes brush!

Whether there are struggles in your household about brushing or not, the uniqueness of ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes featuring One Direction are sure to get your child racing for the bathroom sink twice a day (if not more). They're just such a great way to make an otherwise monotonous part of life fun and entertaining!

I do wish that ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes made it possible to replace the brush head and batteries instead of having to purchase an entirely new toothbrush every three months (the recommended amount of time to replace it due to normal wear).

However, as these brushes have a suggested retail price of $9.99, it ends up only being approximately $3 per month to make brushing my daughter's teeth a happy, enjoyable experience for all of us. Totally worth it!

Mom It Forward and ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes partnered in support of this campaign and ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes compensated me for my participation. However, as always, all thoughts and opinions shared are honest and my own.

Rylie has always been very good about brushing her teeth, but I don't think she brushes them long enough. Being that she loves music these days, this would be a great way to keep her brushing for the full 2 minutes. I have got to get her one of these!

Zoe is obsessed with hers! I also wish they'd make the head replaceable. Just seems silly to have to buy an entire new brush with music plus waste of money. But it helps the kids and is fun!

Oh my gosh! I have been wondering about those after seeing the commercials! Thanks for the great review!

I hope these actually get the job done and are not just novelty items with simple tunes recorded onto a chip! If it really does help kids brush better, I'm all for it!

Planned obsolescence! Bad practice. Not green at all. Comes with batteries installed, then you have to throw them away?

This is really a cute, fun product.

As far as I'm concerned anything that encourages my kids to brush their teeth is a great product.

If it makes the kids smile while brushing their teeth, that is a very good thing.

My granddaughter loves One Dimension -- I think she will brush her teeth longer if she is enjoying a song. Thanks for letting me know. This is going in her Easter Basket

Gosh I wish we had these as a kid. I'm sure this really makes teeth brushing more enjoyable for the kiddos.
