Unwinding, decompressing, resting, breathing, loosening, mellowing, resting. Whichever term you choose, there is no denying that our days are filled to the brim with a multitude of errands, chores, work, events, appointments and people pulling at us in each and every direction and vying for every last ounce of our attention.
But whether you are able to easily find a few minutes to focus on yourself or if you have to shuffle things around in your schedule to fit them in, it's worth it. Make 2013 the year that you spend time on you, the person who most deserves a few tranquil moments of respite and calm amidst the daily grind.
And it couldn't be much easier thanks to the look, smell and safety of Scentsy, their fabulous line of wickless candles, ceramic Warmers and delicious fragrance products, and the introduction of the amazing Violet Leaf as ScenTrend 2013.
If you read my Scentsy review this past fall, then you already know that I'm a big fan of the way that Scentsy provides everything that you love about candles but without the features you'd like to avoid (e.g. flames, heat and the dangers that come along with them).
By simply heating fragrant wax in an elegant Warmer (there are more than 100 ceramic Warmer designs, so finding one to fit your style and decor is not at all a problem) using a low-watt light bulb, there is no flame, smoke or soot. The long-lasting wax slowly melts, infusing a room with fragrance.
As if making the decision on the style and color of the Warmer isn't difficult enough, there are then dozens and dozens of different fragrances to go along with them. Containing 3x as much fragrance oil as regular wicked candles, Scentsy wickless candle Bars include scents that are reminiscent of the spa, a corner café, romance, baked goods and much more.
Each year Scentsy teams its in-house fragrance experts with prominent international fragrance houses to name the inaugural ScenTrend – the trendiest fragrance of the year – and while I loved the sweet, spicy, floral tones of 2012's Pink Pepper, I have been just as excited about the 2013 winner, Violet Leaf.
Green, dewy and uplifting, Violet Leaf is a simple, familiar, organic scent. It's fresh and has a cut-grass feel with watery accents of melon and cucumber and just a powdery hint of violet flower, ensuring that the subtle floral undertones are gentle on the senses.
Perfect for the hectic craziness of 2013, Violet Leaf's pure, natural fragrance is just the right reminder to unplug from our increasingly digital world. Kick back, turn on some soothing music (or enjoy a few moments of silence), and take deep breaths as this calming scent enhances the overall serenity of your environment.
Thinking that all sounded pretty darn near perfect to me, I was immediately excited about de-stressing with the fun gifts that Scentsy provided.
After looking over the cozy slipper socks, cooling eye mask and Scentsy fragrances, all I needed was a few minutes to myself to let Violet Leaf whisk away my tension and worries.
As with my experimentation with Pink Pepper, I found that mixing Violet Leaf with other Scentsy varieties resulted in unique, truly enjoyable aromas. The refreshing, herbaceous notes of the Violet Leaf don't act as if it is separate from the other bars, but rather blend in for an individual, natural goodness.
I love that Scentsy has made it even easier for customers to find their favorite Violet Leaf combination, as scent that are perfect for mixing with Violet Leaf are marked right in the Scentsy Fragrance catalog with the symbol shown below.
They include: Posy Peach, Route 66, Quiver, Apple Press, Rio Beach and Lotus Cove. And Scentsy is definitely right! I love the way that Violet Leaf takes Rio Beach and Quiver and turns them into something... more.
The scent of tropical sunshine and coconut, Rio Beach transforms into a light, breezy paradise, while the vanilla and sandalwood of Quiver combine with Violet Leaf into an aroma that reminds me of taking a deep breath of fresh, fragrant, flowery air.
However, as much as I enjoyed those two combinations, my new favorite Scentsy fragrance is now Posy Peach. Introduced in recognition of ScenTrend 2013, Posy Peach treats you to the aroma of a fuzzy ripe peach, but balances it with the green, sweet-but-not-too-sweet kick of Violet Leaf itself.
Mmmmm, the result is a fragrance that brings a smile to my face while also making me feel instantly relaxed. Who knew that you could recreate a lazy sunny summer day simply through an amazing smell?
Scentsy products are not available in retail stores but instead through home parties, open houses, fairs and shows, and fundraisers. But with more than 200,000 Independent Scentsy Consultants, there is sure to be one in your area to help you order just the right Warmer (retailing from $20 - $40), fragrance and more that is right for you or as a gift.
As for your fragrances, finding your favorite might be difficult since they're all so amazing... but when it comes to relaxing, Violet Leaf (available February 1, 2013) is a great addition that can change your mood as well as your day.
In this fast-paced world, we often yearn for simple moments that offer a sense of tranquility. Don't just let them pass you by or go unrecognized, celebrate them! Turn down the lights, grab a cup of coffee, rest your head on a pillow — whatever you need to do to relax and unwind for a short time — and let Scentsy, Violet Leaf and Posy Peach turn a few minutes into an amazing experience!
Thanks to the generosity of Scentsy, one person will soon be enjoying their own serenity right at home as well, because...
One lucky person will win the Scentsy Warmer of their choice along with Violet Leaf and Posy Peach Fragrance Bars!
.
A big thank you to Scentsy for providing relaxation kit for me to review as well as the Scentsy Warmer of choice and two Scentsy Bars for one lucky giveaway winner. The opinions shared are my own and honest and if you really need to see more, click here to see how I roll.
