With the arrival of summer, that means it is time to pull out warm weather clothing for everyday, as well as for occasions like graduations, concerts in the park, and weddings.

Whereas some people might roll their eyes when a wedding invitation shows up in their mailbox, I'm a big fan. I love attending and seeing all of the details that went into the decor, gawking at the bride's gown, and putting in a little time on the dance floor.

Aside from buying a gift, the only thing that I find myself fretting about prior to attending special occasions like weddings is what I'm going to wear. I want something simple yet elegant, trendy yet classic... and of course it has to be comfortable as well as flattering. Not to mention that I'm far too budget-conscious to head to the mall without feeling incredibly guilty for paying full price for something, so where does that leave?

Recently I was introduced to a site that makes it possible to meet all of my qualifications and prepare for all sorts of upcoming events (or simply everyday life) in the brand name fashions available from Tracy's Closet.

Tracy's Closet

A community that makes it possible to buy the styles you prefer while selling the unused items in your closet, Tracy's Closet makes it easy to shop the closets of other fashionable women without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

To begin, simply snap a photo of an item you want to sell and answer a few questions about it (e.g. the retail price of the item, if it is new, vintage, etc) and you instantly receive points in your Tracy's Closet account to start shopping.

The points system is designed to make it possible for you to shop cash free, unless you opt to purchase points. The number of points you receive from each item you list varies based on its original retail cost plus its condition. Therefore, a $50 item may be assigned different point values depending on whether it is new, new with tags, gently used or vintage. This creates some complexity, but it is ultimately set up to bring you the most value for your dollar.

Tracy's Closet points

If this all sounds complicated, it's really not!

The points system ensures that you don't have to reach for your wallet when shopping, as earning points happens when you upload items to sell (there are NO seller fees), refer friends and check in daily. Even better, when you become a member today, you'll instantly earn 500 points to get you started shopping right away!

online resale site

Be warned though, once you start shopping, Tracy's Closet can be addicting! I love visiting often to see what new items have been uploaded (the inventory is constantly changing as more women's and children's items are added by other members), and I appreciate that it is easy to scroll through everything or narrow down the options.

Whether you are shopping for a particular item — for instance a dress for an upcoming wedding, a chic purse or a great new pair of jeans — or just want to spruce up your closet in an affordable way, you'll find it all with a few quick clicks.

Search by type, brand, color, condition, number of points and more and you can literally pinpoint the perfect pair of pumps, the cutest new bag, the hottest brand of jeans or the chicest summer top in less than a minute.

trendy clothes

Considering how many times I've visited Tracy's Closet since being introduced to it, I knew it would only be a matter of time before I found a deal too good to pass up.

Sure enough, once I came across this casual black loose dress, I knew that I would have to cash in some points. After all, only 696? That's a steal!

Although the lighting on the photos wasn't the best and I wasn't able to zoom in as close as I could have liked to really see every aspect, I was still able to get a good feel for this piece and was excited to place my order.

After adding my address to my account, it only took another few taps on my mouse before I sat back satisfied that this dress would be on its way to my door soon. Even better, thanks to the FREE shipping, this really ended up being an even better deal... that I can't wait to see when it arrives!

sold

Tracy's Closet is currently in early beta stages where anyone can join and be one of the first to try out this innovative site. Their goal is to build inventory through fashionable women, so the more people that join (and the more friends that they each invite), the more items there will be to choose from!

Whatever your agenda calls for this summer, Tracy's Closet will have the apparel, shoes, accessories and more to keep the women and children in your family outfitted comfortably and stylishly. We all want to look great and feel great effortlessly, so why not do it in an affordable and earth-friendly way?

Looks awesome. It makes it easy to shop from the comfort of your own home especially if you have children.

Wow this sounds really neato. Kind of like ebay meets consignment shop meets clothing swap. Very nice idea. I kind of get how it works, but will have to join myself and see. Thanks for the tip.

I like to shop at thrift stores. I like to shop online. This is like the best of both worlds. What are their return policies like?

I like the idea simply because it gives you more variety to choose from than going to one shop. I would definitely appreciate all the choices I have to narrow down what I'm looking for. This is also a nice way to find something you want in good conditon, but you don't have to pay the full retail price for it.

I like that you can buy things with the points you earn and that there are no seller fees.
