Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella DVD {Review}

Even though I know that someday Little Sister B will realize that she can't actually grow up to become a princess, I still love seeing the joy and wonder on her face when she is watching or talking about anything princess-related. That's the magic of fairy tales, right?

For her, the only way to make one of the classic princess tales even better would be to modernize it and include even more of her favorite characters to the storyline.

Which is why when I heard that, just in time for Valentine's Day, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was debuting a full-length feature adventure inspired by Cinderella, I knew it would be an instant hit. Princess PLUS Minnie Mouse? Those dreams can now come true with the release of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella on DVD.

Minnie-rella DVD

Available today, February 11th, 2014, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella brings viewers into the magical world of fairy tales filled with favorite Clubhouse characters in familiar roles, music, fun and more.

The story begins as the crew needs to get Minnie a surprise present, so they keep her busy with plenty of chores to do at the Clubhouse. Tired from so much work, Minnie falls asleep and dreams that she is Minnie-rella!

Poor Minnie-rella needs a lot of help to get ready for Prince Mickey's Grand Ball! With a wave of her wand and some "Mouseke-doodle-lee-doo" magic, Minnie-rella's Fairy Godmother, Clarabelle, transforms an ordinary tomato into a magnificent carriage and Minnie-rella's raggedy dress into a beautiful gown that is perfect for a princess.

Then it's off to the ball for an evening spent dancing with Prince Mickey!

But Minnie-rella's enchanted dance with Prince Mickey at the ball must end when the spell is broken at midnight. Will Prince Mickey be able to find the princess who fits into her lost glass slipper?

Minnie-rella part 3

I love the way that Disney Junior condensed the tale of Cinderella into this short, sweet story and that the parts that were left out were the ones that added the darker twist, e.g. the evil stepsisters, Lucifer the cat, etc. Instead, Minnie-rella is just full of happiness, dancing and song!

As well as this adorable fairy tale, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella DVD comes packaged with a Castle Play Set, three additional Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes and 10 Minnie's Bow-Toons Shorts!

Little Sister B was thrilled to have her own castle, carriage, prince and princess to play with and to recreate this adventure...

...and who doesn't love a whole slew of bonus episodes to watch as well?

The three Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes include:
  • Pluto's Tale – In Pluto's very first fairytale adventure, we help Prince Pluto rescue Princess Bella from the clutches of sneaky Wizard Pete.
  • Mickey and the Enchanted Egg – Mickey finds an egg which soon hatches into a Baby Dragon. Mickey and his friends have to return the Dragon back to her castle home and convince the powerful Wizard Pete that they didn't steal the egg in the first place.
  • Daisy's Pony Tale – When Professor Von Drake's new invention, a Fritzer-Spritzer Spray Potion, accidentally gets spritzed on Daisy's ponytail, it makes her hair grow super long! Along with Mickey and Sire Goofs-a-Lot, Daisy travels on her pony to find 12 leaves of the magical plant, Rapunzel, in order to reverse the effects of the Professor's potion and fix her ponytail.

At the same time, Little Sister B adores when we catch Minnie Bow-Toons Shorts on television, so being able to have all 10 of these available to watch anytime has made her extremely happy! They include:
  • Piano Movers and Shakers
  • A Good Sign
  • Locked Out
  • Feelin' Crabby
  • Cucko-Loca’s Egg-celent Adventure
  • Funny Bunny
  • Weather or Not
  •  Mechanical Mayhem
  • Adventures in Piggy Sitting
  •  Minnie's Makeover Madness

With a feature run time (for all episodes) of 102 minutes, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella is just the thing to help spread the love this Valentine's Day. While the complete DVD set is available now (retailing for $14.99 from Amazon), the full Minnie-rella feature will also premiere on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior on February 14th.

If you have a child in your life who loves Disney, princesses, Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, fairy tales or anything of the sort, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella might just be the perfect Valentine's Day gift and way to spread the "Dreams do come true" love this month and beyond.

Other than the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella DVD that I was provided in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this post in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion about this product.
