Mouthwatering Menu + Restaurant.com Certificate = An Amazing Evening at Vincitori {#ReviewCrew}

Restaurant.com Review Crew
Although I'm not sure it would be possible for me to love and adore my children any more than I do, the times that my husband and I are able to spend time together without them manage to leave me feeling refreshed and fulfilled like no other.

There's just something about those rare occasions that we are able to enjoy a meal without having to worry about anyone complaining about dropping their crayons or spilling their milk that provide us with the perfect way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Even better? Being able to save money in the process by using a Restaurant.com certificate on our visit to Vincitori in downtown Westmont, Illinois!

Owned by head chef Bob Airdo (a veteran of upscale hotel kitchens such as Chicago's Ritz-Carlton), Vincitori prides itself on serving homemade Italian cuisine in a casual trattoria setting. The menu consists of high quality Italian dishes that are crafted with unique style in a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere that is upscale yet relaxed.

Whether visitors stop in to dine on entrees in the warmly painted dining room or to pull up a stool at the granite-topped bar to sit in the lounge and enjoy live entertainment most Friday and Saturday evenings, Vincitori has a little something for everyone. Couples, families, dates, group gatherings — they even host banquets and do catering as well.

Needless to say, my husband and I were excited to make our first visit to Vincitori to sample their delicious food as well as have a nice evening to ourselves!

As we entered the dining room, I was immediately struck with the simplistic beauty and pleasant ambiance of Vincitori. Everything from the pendant lights to the soft artwork to the classic table settings were crisp, clean and inviting.

After being shown to our table, it was time to peruse the menu... which was not an easy feat. Appetizers, pizzas, steaks, veal and chops, seafood, chicken, pasta, soups, salads and more — there was just about every possible dish to match appetites both big and small!

While there were multiple options that caught our eye (I appreciate that Vincitori has options for various diet restrictions such as gluten free and vegan), my meat-and-potatoes husband was happy to order his Filet Mignon while I couldn't wait to try out the Acorn Squash Ravioli. Our friendly server then returned with a basket of fresh, warm bread with oil and cheese and dinner salads (ordered separately).

To say that the two of us got caught up in the delicious flavors of our food and the fact that we were able to have a peaceful meal to ourselves is an understatement! The bread was wonderful, the salads were fresh and tasty and my Acorn Squash Ravioli was so delicious that I had nearly finished it before I even thought of taking a picture!

Hopefully the 1.5 raviolis that I had left still give a hint to how AMAZING they tasted.

Without a doubt, this was the tastiest meal I have eaten in quite some time! The combination of the acorn squash and the maple walnut butter sauce... mmm, mmm, mmmmm it was a melt-in-my-mouth mix of buttery sweetness and deliciousness that I would definitely order again!

Although both of us tried to savor every bite, it wasn't long before our plates were completely cleared and we were both stuffed full and were extremely happy about it. The amazing food, the comfortable bar area and the overall welcoming, upscale-yet-not-pretentious feeling made our night out feel even more special.

The only aspect about Vincitori that would be a deterrent to visiting more often is the price, as food this delicious doesn't come cheap. However, as my husband and I first purchased a Restaurant.com certificate (which I pulled up right on my phone thanks to their app), we were able to lower our bill to a price that mirrored visiting one of our "usual" restaurants... but, considering how thrilled we were with our amazing food, it made the night quite a steal! I have no doubt that if we are in the Westmost area in the future we'll be returning again!
