Holiday Gift Guide: Bake Pop Cake Pops Treat Sensations {Review & Giveaway}

{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, Jodi Keller!}

Dear Everyone I Know,

From now on, don't expect me to bring my usual pasta salad or plate of brownies to our gatherings, as those have been replaced with something much more unique and eye-catching. I know that they taste good and are well-received, but that phase has passed.

See, instead of the norm, I'm hooked on taking a sensational new spin on desserts and just can't go back. Who wants to show up to a potluck, cookie exchange or holiday dinner with regular cookies when you can blow everyone's socks off in terms of taste, appearance, and entertainment thanks to Bake Pops?

Trust me, this is for the better good for all of us.

Love, me.

What can I say? I'm hooked!

Combining my adoration of most anything As Seen On TV with my love of desserts and there really wasn't any way for me to not be excited about Bake Pops. Plus, with the way that Bake Pop has made it so simple and easy to create these with their pan set, there's just no reason to not have these bite size cake-on-a-stick treats at your next party.

Complete with the two-pan set, pan hooks, and 18 sticks, the handy instructions told me that all that I needed to do was mix up my favorite cake and I was ready to turn them into round pops. Could it really be that simple?

As I looked closer, it seemed that yes, that really was all there was to it!

Well, let's get started then! I followed Bake Pop's tips for mixing up my batter (e.g. adding an extra egg, using milk instead of water, etc) and prepared the top and bottom pans by spraying them with nonstick baking spray.

Pouring batter into each of the half circles...

...I placed the top pan on top and securely hooked it in place with the two yellow clips.

While the pan went into the oven, my two eager helpers took part in their favorite aspect of cooking...

...while I waited until my cake pops emerged. Although when they did...

...oops! Apparently I didn't need to fill my pan that full!

We all got a good laugh out of the overflowing pops as I proceeded to pull each one off of the top of the pan. Fortunately, as Bake Pop had suggested that the top also be covered with nonstick spray, each one came off easily and I found that the kids were actually pretty excited about what they dubbed Cake Cups!

As for the Bake Pops themselves? They turned out a perfect little circular ball of cake!

Bake Pop continues their easy-to-follow instructions with tips on decorating, and I was happy to see that they were right about dipping the stick in chocolate before placing it in the cake to hold it steady.

After chilling the pops for 10 minutes in the refrigerator...

...it was time to decorate! I love the completely customizable nature of these, as you have the option of going minimal or completely creative. Use frosting, melted chocolate, your own whipped up concoction or more... just dip, decorate and more!

On my next attempt, I'll use a better option for holding these in place, but for now my box setup worked and, after sticking them back in the fridge for a little while to harden, I was pretty pleased with my first try at Bake Pops.

Now can you see why I'm hooked? They're just so cool! I love the idea of making Bake Pops for just about any occasion, from birthdays to holiday parties to baby showers to just about anything in between. They look great, taste great, and have gotten an extremely positive response at our house!

Retailing for $19.99 plus shipping and handling, there's a special going on at BakePop.com where you can double your order and only pay a separate processing charge... so now's the time to pick up a set for yourself as well as for a great gift!
