Smart Bags for Smart People: Ju-Ju-Be Behave Hobo Bag {Review & Giveaway}

While some women are drawn to jewelry and others to shoes, I seem to have a deep addiction to bags.

Although that doesn't tend to create too much of a problem in terms of handbags — can you ever have too many? I think not — diaper bags are a completely different category all of their own. Because in their case, yes, you can have too many.

Those that are huge and bulky end up getting left at home, those that are impractical in style or design end up causing frustration, and those that scream I'm a diaper bag! are outgrown long before your child has taken their first steps.

Instead, it makes much more sense to be choosy and select one. One unique, high quality, ultra-fashionable, extremely versatile handbag that can be used pre-baby, throughout childhood, and beyond that essentially transforms to meet the needs of women through all of the stages of their life (with or without kids).

Which is exactly why I have long had a crush on the durability, fashions and complete awesomeness available from Ju-Ju-Be.

Although they started with only their fabulous diaper bags, the Ju-Ju-Be collection has since expanded to include purses, handbags, tote bags, shopping bags, laptop bags, and all sorts of other bags that will make you marvel at how cute, functional and overall amazing they are.

While my longtime Ju-Ju-Be crush has always been the HoboBe, once I started browsing their collection of Earth Leather products, I found myself head over heels for the Behave. Eco-friendly, machine washable, roomy and downright gorgeous?

Oh, Behave.

Measuring in at 14" wide x 11" high x 5.5" deep, the Behave manages to be a substantial handbag (that really does include every feature that I could possibly need) without being overwhelmingly large to carry around.

The Earth Leather, an environmentally friendly alternative to animal leather, is soft and luxurious and, as far as I can tell, looks every bit as stylish as genuine leather (minus the guilt). From the moment I removed this from the box, it was clear that this was a very high quality bag!

How can I not appreciate the appeal of the smooth Earth Leather combined with the great metal hardware accents?

Opening it up, I was amazed at the vastness of the large zippered compartment of the Behave — not only because there was plenty of room to store all of my belongings (and those that I might need for my children), but at the sheer number of pockets. I have never been more organized in my life since Ju-Ju-Be came into it!

And can we talk about the gorgeous teal lining? I LOVE the bright contrast to the brown Earth Leather as well as the way that the lighter lining makes it easy to find my items quickly. Even better, this AgION Antimicrobial Lining kills germs, mold, mildew, fungus, bacteria, and more!

The pockets! The pockets!

I tend to be one of those people who stands and digs through their black hole of a purse to find my keys or the coupon that I tossed in there before heading to the store, but now the Ju-Ju-Be Behave is beyond perfect with the number of zippered pockets, pen loops, lipstick/gloss loops, key fob, gusseted pockets and more!

There is even an interior dividing pouch right down the middle, providing a separate zippered pocket for diapers, wipes, makeup, my wallet, a planner... anything!

But the main interior isn't the only place that Ju-Ju-Be included awesome pockets, they also included three great exterior pockets that each have their own unique features as well.

On the front of the Behave, the magnetic flap closure opens to show a zippered inner pocket as well as three slim slots that are just right for cards, more pens or simply to stash small necessities.

On each side of this bag, however, I adore that Ju-Ju-Be included two zippered pockets that I have never seen before on a bag — one is insulated with Thinsulate to keep bottles/water/sippy cups warm or cold while the other is lined with extra softness to protect your sunglasses!

Ju-Ju-Be designers, you are brilliant.

As one more added stroke of genius, the Behave is easily adapted and adjusted for carrying multiple ways. I nearly always reach for the double carry straps, but love that there is a longer messenger strap included in case you'd rather wear this as a cross-body bag. It even has a removable memory foam shoulder pad for added comfort!

When not in use, the messenger strap can easily be unclipped and removed or slid right into the retaining holders on the bottom of the bag.

I'm telling you, every aspect of the Behave is just pure genius.

I've seen bags before that have claimed to be multifunctional, but Ju-Ju-Be has created one that can transform to work for all of the different needs that women have and which role in our lives we are in. This beauty comes in five different color/lining combinations and every part of it has transformed what was once a mundane diaper bag into a chic and fashionable hobo bag, whether you're using it with kids or not. 

Although the Behave has a slightly higher price tag than the plain diaper bags that you might find in the store (it retails for $185), this isn't just going to serve as a diaper bag but as a handbag for all occasions. I am headed to BlogHer, the largest blogging conference of the year, next week and this is THE bag that is coming with me day after day!
