Real Food For All: Revolution Foods Meal Kits Include No Artificial Anything! {Review}

I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Revolution Foods. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

While the end of the school year already has me longingly missing our daily routine, one aspect that I was not at all sad to say good-bye to was packing a lunchbox.

I'm not sure what it is about having to fill up that colorful, insulated, zippered bag, but once I was past the juice box, my mind had a hard time coming up with more. Not enough time for the coffee to make it to my brain, maybe?

However, lest I think that summer means the end of packing food to go, that is clearly not the case. Play dates at the park, upcoming family trips, and a whole slew of camps, lessons and activities just means that I need to be even more on my game when it comes to planning extra meals and snacks.

Fortunately, we were recently introduced to a great way that families across the U.S. can provide nutritious and convenient meal options to kids to keep them full and fueled throughout all of their summer adventures: Revolution Foods.

Revolution Foods

Revolution Foods was founded by two moms to transform the way America eats by providing access to healthy, affordable meals to schools. They have now served over 100 million meals in schools (over one million freshly prepared meals every week to K-12 schools nationwide), as well as offering their retail products so that parents can easily provide healthy meals outside the school doors as well.

After their success in igniting a healthy food movement in schools across the country and sharing their belief that proper nutrition is a cornerstone of providing our youth the nourishment they need to lead successful, healthy lives, Revolution Foods has expanded their line to now offer Revolution Foods Meal Kits.

Revolution Foods Meal Kits

Available in four delicious options — turkey & cheddar, ham & cheddar, cheese pizza and peanut butter & jelly — these Meal Kits are designed for elementary and middle school kids and are made with natural, high quality ingredients and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives (the meats have no added nitrates and the kits come with real cheese).

Each Revolution Foods Meal Kit contains at least seven grams of whole grains, one serving of fruit and is packed with protein. These grab and go kits are perfect for a lunchbox, an after-school mini meal, or an on-the-go energy boost just about anytime, anywhere!

I had no doubt that these great tasting, ready-to-eat options would not only make my kids happy throughout our on-the-go summer, but that I would feel good about serving them as well. A win-win!

Revolution Foods Meal Kits review

As suspected, once Big Sister E and Little Sister B caught sight of the Peanut Butter & Jelly Meal Kit, Turkey & Cheddar Meal Kit and the Cheese Pizza Meal Kit boxes, they were eager to give them a try.

The following day, Big Sister E needed a lunch packed and ready to go and, sure enough, she went right for the Cheese Pizza Meal Kit. One peek inside at the easy-to-assemble pizza (this kit comes with a pizza crust made with whole grain, pizza sauce and spreader, shredded mozzarella cheese and wildberry 100% fruit snacks) and she was ready to go!

After the success of her pizza, there was no doubt that Big Sister E went straight for the Peanut Butter & Jelly Meal Kit the following day for lunch, which happened to be a day that I was able to come and eat with her... and see her enjoy this combo just as much. In fact, she declared it her favorite!

It was only a few days later that Little Sister B was able to enjoy the Turkey & Cheddar Meal Kit during a quick break for a snack and she gave it two thumbs up as well!

Revolution Foods Meal Kit review

While we have tried other prepackaged meals in the past, I always felt as though my kids deserved something better in terms of nutrition (and taste). Instead, these Revolution Foods Meal Kits manage to bring together convenience, great taste, ready-to-eat options that make me feel good about serving them to my kids!

Instead of knowing my girls are filling up with processed, junk food, these kits are all natural and leave out the artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives — not to mention that each one contains so many grams of protein, whole grains and a serving of fruit!

I have heard about the Revolution Foods Meal Kits, I have not tried any of them yet, but I'd love to give them a try. It's nice to know that they are made with high quality ingredients and they are healthy, so you don't have to worry about what your kids are eating, or what you are eating.

These are so much better than the ones that have so many chemicals in them. (naming no names...)

These look great and I have a picky little guy here. I need to find where they are in my area. I'm not that close to a Target but can get to one. Thanks
