Checking Our List #14: Wind & Weather Chair Swings {Review & Giveaway}

{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, roswell!}

Of all the things that my husband is interested in, one of the more obscure ones is hammocks (he is also interested in the word Kiwi as a middle name for one of our kids, so one day Big Sister E should definitely thank me for putting a stop to that).

So, at some point we purchased a cheap free-standing hammock and stand so that he could fulfill his ideas about relaxing while slowly swaying back and forth in the breeze... which, of course, mainly sits unused in the garage.

As I have always been much more of a porch swing person, I'm really not all that disappointed, but I do admit that I like his thinking. Having a cool, comfortable place to sit outside and enjoy watching my kids play or just relax sure does sound nice. The perfect compromise for us both? The high quality, attractive durable Chair Swings from the site known for amazing outdoor accessories, Wind & Weather.

For all of the weather instruments, gear and gadgets and yard and garden objects and decor you could ask for, Wind & Weather has a large collection of items for the home that would make wonderful gifts this holiday season. Their passion for the outdoors combined with their line of distinctive art pieces and great customer service makes them perfect for finding just the right item for you or the lucky people on your shopping list.

As for us, this Chair Swing in Blue Stripe couldn't have been a better combination of the best features that my husband and I both look for when we want to comfortably relax. Right out of the box, the plush pillows were soft and comfortable and it was clear that the frame was sturdy and strong.

With the option of hanging this in almost any location and from just about any sort of support beam, you can easily customize the height that the Chair Swing sits at from the length of chain that you select to hang it from. We found that one eye hook combined with one S-hook was all that we needed to have our Swing at just the right level for getting in and out easily.

Unsurprisingly, our Chair Swing looked so amazingly comfortable and inviting that neither my husband nor I were able to be the first ones to try it out.

This Chair Swing is actually great for kids because they can easily hold onto the smooth rope and be completely cushioned in the soft pillows. Little Sister B was completely relaxed as she lightly swung back and forth in the cool breeze and looked content enough to hang out for quite a while.

But of course it wasn't long before Big Sister E had to get in on the action as well and we found that the flexibility of the ropes and the large, wide cushions provided plenty of room for two.

When the kids were finally done swinging and my husband and I had a chance to try this out, we both understood why the girls had enjoyed it so much. The combination of the gentle swaying and the sitting-on-a-cloud cushions (which, by the way, are fade-resistant, weather-safe and mildew-resistant) makes this the perfect place to sit and relax.

Once the temperatures warm back up, I have plans for retreating to this swing with a good book... or possibly for a nice nap. A girl can dream, right?

Available in a variety of stylish colors, the hammock-like Chair Swings from Wind & Weather retail for $159.95 and would make a wonderful gift for anyone who would enjoy lounging around in the summer breeze - are there people out there that wouldn't? Or, for help finding the perfect item for your family and friends, Wind & Weather has a great gift guide that makes it easy to find just what will work best for under your tree.

Also, thanks to their generosity, one person won't have to just take my word for it that this Chair Swing glides and sways like a dream, because...
