Em's 4 Kids Hearing Protection for Little Ears {Review & Giveaway}

Em's 4 Kids logo{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, The Smiths!}

This past August I had the pleasure of attending the ABC Kids Expo in Louisville, Kentucky and spent hours walking the massive hall visiting booth after booth of everything from futuristic, high-tech products to simple, handmade items that moms and kids would be sure to love.

It was huge, it was tiring, and it was fun. Where else can I find such a wide range of products from giant, well-known companies as well as new, parent-run start-ups?

In the weeks prior to attending the show I had made dozens of appointments to meet with various people and I was excited about them... but there was one booth that I had on my mind that I was definitely not going to miss. After having received a press release in my inbox about Em's 4 Kids, I knew that they were going to be the answer to an ongoing problem at my house.

Started due to a belief that hearing is precious and something needing to be protected, Em's 4 Kids believes that if children are taught from a young age that their hearing is important (and can be protected from excessively loud noises), they will be more likely to look after their hearing as they move into their teenage years.

As research by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that over 12% of American children aged between six and 19 years have hearing loss caused by noise, the innovative and stylish Em's 4 Kids and Em's 4 Bubs earmuffs are designed to be just the thing to protect young children from noise-induced hearing loss and deafness.

So far we don't have any known issues with hearing loss in either of my kids, however, the problem that we continue to come across is this:

Little Sister B at her first parade in July of 2009. She was happy and cheerful until the siren from a police motorcycle blared nearby and then it was all over.

We attend multiple parades each year in our own city as well as in surrounding areas and although my kids both love the idea of the parade (candy!), Little Sister B couldn't handle the noise back then and she still can't handle it now:

This was our most recent attempt at giving her a pair of adult earmuffs and trying to convince her that they have magical powers... and although they allowed her to sit in her own chair without my husband's hands over her ears the whole time, they still didn't work (considering that they don't actually block noise) and we had multiple instances of crying.

After having met with the innovative owners of Em's 4 Kids at the Expo, however, I'm looking forward to our next parade even more than usual, thanks to their Em's 4 Kids earmuffs.

Weighing around 6½ ounces, these lightweight earmuffs resemble trendy headphones and are easily folded and unfolded for kids to pull on any time that they need them. When completely closed, they fit in the palm of your hand, ensuring that they can easily be stored away or transported to the location that they will be needed next.

I love just how durable these earmuffs are so that I don't have to worry about Little Sister B pulling them on and off too roughly, and the padded headband and ear coverings ensure that she will always be extremely comfortable.

As the earmuffs are easily adjustable, I have no doubt that these will fit for Little Sister B for years to come. She loves the feeling of being secure and how much sound is blocked, so our future parades are sure to be much more enjoyable for all of us!

From events such as concerts, parades and car races to protection from noisy environments, parents who are musicians, and traffic or machinery, Em's 4 Kids can help keep kids from being disturbed while also protecting them from possible hearing loss. Retailing for $27.43 including tax, these are our new must-have accessory!

But, wait! Safe hearing isn't only for older children and Em's 4 Kids certainly hasn't forgotten about infants. Their line of Em's 4 Bubs weigh only 3½ ounces and use an interchangable headband to hold the earmuffs in place. As the world's smallest hearing protection earmuffs (designed just for infants), the Em's 4 Bubs headbands come in three different sizes to ensure that you have just the right fit for your little one.

Retailing for $32.91 including tax, these great earmuffs are just the thing to start your newborn off on the right foot to a lifetime of safe hearing!

And, thanks to the generosity of Em's 4 Kids, one person will have the opportunity to protect the ears of the child in their life as well, because...
