Plow & Hearth and Thompson's WaterSeal Partner for the Deck of Your Dreams Sweepstakes {Solar-Powered Textured Glass Birdbath With Stand Review}

Now that spring has arrived, do you look out your window and like what you see? I don't mean the sunshine or the birds or the green grass, but what about your outdoor living space? Is it everything you've ever dreamed of?

Most likely, the answer is no.

According to a recent survey by Thompson's WaterSeal, homeowners love their deck but have many changes in mind when it comes to the ideal beauty or functionality for it. From lighting to landscaping to storage and seating, we all just want to create the ideal space to kick back and relax with family and friends.

Fortunately, one of my favorite outdoor sites, Plow & Hearth, has recently partnered with Thompson's WaterSeal to give you the chance to turn your wishes into reality with their Deck of Your Dreams Sweepstakes.

Deck of your dreams sweepstakes

Running now through October 6, 2012, the Deck of Your Dreams Sweepstakes features a simple entry form that just might win you the grand prize valued at almost $20,000. Talk about dreaming!

The prize is broken down into $10,000 that will be awarded as a check to be used on deck building and enhancements, a $5,000 shopping spree at Plow & Hearth to pick the perfect "deck-cessories," and expert guidance from HGTV/DIY network star Jeff Wilson throughout the design and building process, including an in-person visit to the winner's home!

With visions of a welcoming, colorful outdoor space in mind, I went right over to the Deck of Your Dreams Sweepstakes and entered... and now I just have to cross my fingers until October! In the meantime, however, I'm on the right path to accessorizing and creating an outdoor environment that we can all enjoy thanks to the Solar-Powered Textured Glass Birdbath With Stand from Plow & Hearth.

glass birdbath

Arriving safely packed in two pieces, it was easy to see that the assembly and setup for this birdbath was nearly non-existent.

After positioning and tightening the stand into place, I was glad to see the four suction cups evenly placed to hold the glass birdbath right on top (as well as allow it to be removed for easy cleaning).

Before securing the birdbath, I turned over the delicate-but-durable textured glass to find the controls for the solar lights accessible underneath. I love that Plow & Hearth allows users to decide if they would like the soft glow of the lights at night or if they would prefer to just enjoy the beauty of the display during the day.

After setting the birdbath into place, all that was left to do was add water and it was set to go. Suddenly the birds in our yard had a place to bathe, while we had the opportunity to enjoy the sight of this stylish piece of garden décor - with or without our aviary friends!

Plow & Hearth birdbath review

Now that we have the Solar-Powered Textured Glass Birdbath With Stand nearby, I love glancing out the window and seeing the birds come by or even just the water rippling in the breeze. The leafy vine design and yellow-green coloring of the birdbath itself blends in to its natural surroundings while still standing out enough that it makes a statement.

Even better, when the sun goes down there is still beauty to be had right outside as the solar lights give off just enough twinkle to catch your eye.

Available in the Vines and Birds design that we enjoy as well as a colorful Sunflower option, the Solar-Powered Textured Glass Birdbaths With Stands retail for $79.95 exclusively from Plow & Hearth. If you've been looking for a way to decorate a porch or deck, liven up your garden or add a gorgeous touch to your entryway all while helping out your feathered friends, these just might be the answer for your home as well.

And remember, now is the time to do some browsing at Plow & Hearth, because you just might win $5,000 to make those purchases this fall from the Deck of Your Dreams Sweepstakes! Once you've entered, check out Plow & Hearth's full selection of quality items on their website, as well as connecting with them on Twitter and Facebook to never miss what's ongoing or new with this great company.

(Other than the sweepstakes information and birdbath that I received from Plow & Hearth, I was not provided with anything or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my opinion of this company and this product.)

Thanks for sharing this review and sharing the sweepstakes with all of us. I need a deck so bad. What a great combination Thompson's Waterseal and Plow & Hearth. What we have I wouldn't really call a deck but more of a 10x10 platform lol We just bought Thompson's Waterseal for our new front steps because it does such a great job. Plow and Hearth has so many wonderful outdoor decor items I could shop til I dropped. I just love their glass butterfly feeders and glass bird baths. I would be so thrilled to win such a great giveaway~!
