AlleyOop Sports ProFlex Basketball Set from JumpSport {Review}

JumpSport logo
It's no secret that, in the course of writing this blog for the past 3½ years, we've tried out a vast, diverse, extremely large collection of products, services, sites, and more. It's sure been a roller coaster!

And while it's difficult to compare or pick favorites (how can you put handbags against kids' shoes against pots and pans?), I'll admit that there are a select few that have just made more of an impression on us than others. From the way that they have proven their durability, reliability, quality and have, in essence, changed our lives, these items are the ones that have simply made an impact.

Up at the very top of that list would have to be the one and only AlleyOop Sports 14ft VariableBounce Trampoline Safety System from JumpSport.

JumpSport VariableBounce Trampoline

Quotes from my JumpSport review back in May had me mentioning things like "I don't foresee us ever growing tired of this trampoline" and "I can honestly say that it has changed our lives in ways that I wouldn't have imagined." If I were to write that review over today? I would say the exact same things... except multiplied by 10.

Or maybe by 5,000.

Because this amazing trampoline has turned into more than just an outdoor plaything, it has become one of my girls' most cherished possessions and a part of their daily lives.

They love it. Looooooooovvvvvvve it. Their friends love it. Our neighbors love it. Heck, people that we don't even know but find ourselves talking to ("Oh, you're the house with the trampoline! That's awesome!") love it.

If I could change one thing about our AlleyOop Sports Trampoline, it would be that it came with its own dome or protective bubble so that we wouldn't have to part with it during the wintertime here in the Midwest. Because the sadness that my kids expressed when they realized that trampolines and snow don't mix was heartbreaking...

Only made worse since they had recently turned up their level of trampoline adoration with the introduction of the AlleyOop Sports ProFlex Basketball Set.

Remember how I mentioned that JumpSport offered an amazing array of trampoline accessories? At the time I had assumed that they would be great for extending the fun of an outdoor trampoline... but then this basketball hoop arrived, and with it came an entirely new and improved love for the VariableBounce Trampoline.

It didn't take long at all before the box of parts...

...was intuitively assembled into a basketball hoop.

By replacing one of the spindles at the top of the existing safety enclosure with one designed for this set, it only took tightening some bolts into the correct places to have this completed and in place and ready for plenty of shooting and dunking action.

What more is there to say? Shoot! Dunk! Bounce! Fun!!

It took Big Sister E and Little Sister B a few tries of getting used to the motions of jumping and shooting at the same time, but they instantly were enamored with the process and how entertaining it was to try over and over again.

It also didn't take too much convincing for my husband to put his skills to the test and see just how much air he could get or fancy moves he could complete.

He managed to master the across the body dunk...

basketball dunking

The over the shoulder dunk...

basketball dunks

And, the I-rule-the-trampoline big daddy dunk of dunks...

And those were all only on the first day that we had the AlleyOop Sports ProFlex Basketball Set up. I'm telling you, I'm suddenly in a house of all Michael Jordans around here.

You be the judge!

Overall, we love that the single addition of this Basketball Set has managed to take something that the whole family already enjoyed and turn it into something entirely new.

As with the trampoline itself, AlleyOop hasn't skimped on safety when it comes to the heavy duty hardware or secure attachment of the ProFlex to the VariableBounce Safety Enclosure itself. The backboard is durable and strong, the cushioned hoop has held up to any sort of shooting or dunking, and no amount of play or weather of any kind has caused more than a slight wobble.

The only issue that we have come across is that due to my girls', shall we say, not so great aim, their balls have ended up over the backboard and in the yard instead of in the hoop. Which then results in having to stop, climb out of the trampoline, down the ladder, and around the back to retrieve it. Is that at all something that causes problems or makes anyone want to stop playing? Not in the slightest!

AlleyOop Sports ProFlex Basketball Set review

While the AlleyOop Sports 14ft VariableBounce Trampoline is an investment (it has an MSRP of $1,599 but retails from JumpSport for $1,399. The 2 Step Trampoline Ladder retails for $59.95), this is one of those times when it has proven, without a doubt, completely worth it. I have no doubt that the amount of joy, laughter, exercise and entertainment that has been experienced in the past seven months is only going to be replicated time and time again for many years to come!

If you have found room in your budget to bring home one of the World's Safest Trampolines (which I highly recommend), then I also suggest splurging the $159.99 on the ProFlex Basketball Set to go with it. It can just take things to a whole separate level of fun!

But, wait! Now is an even better time to bring home a jumping, dribbling, shooting, dunking good time, as JumpSport is offering a discount! From now until December 25, 2012, enter the coupon code ABLOG50COUPON at checkout and you'll receive 50% off your purchase of a basketball hoop when you purchase a trampoline.

To find out much more about all of their amazing products, connect with JumpSport online at JumpSport.com and on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Other than the AlleyOop Sports ProFlex Basketball Set that I was provided by JumpSport to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this review in any way. This post is solely my honest opinion about these products.

I can only hope to have a backyard, or a backyard big enough to fit a tramoline in one day! Didnt have any clue that you could purchase basketball sets to go with it though, what a neat idea!! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, this looks like fun! My boys would have a blast with this hoop. People may think the trampoline is only for fun, but its good exercise and and excellent way to get kids moving and away from the TV. Great review, thanks.
