Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride on DVD Today! {Review & Giveaway}

I have to admit that as well as the lessons and the appropriateness and all of the usual features that parents look for in children's television shows, I also critique just how much I enjoy it as well. Are the characters whiny? Is the music grating? Does the entire thing work my last nerve?

Therefore, as I find myself just as interested and curious to see an adorable family of pink pigs that talk, laugh and snort their way through cute adventure after cute adventure, it's clear that Peppa Pig is a family favorite that is here to stay!

A longtime favorite with British children, Peppa Pig arrived in the U.S. in early 2011, airing on Nick Jr for preschool-aged children. This adorable series stars Peppa, a loveable, energetic little piggy, along with her family – her little brother, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig – as they play games, dress up, go to school, take family trips and, best of all, jump in muddy puddles... all with a sweet and engaging British accent.

So while my girls have enjoyed snorting and giggling along with the show, the only disappointment is that it doesn't seem to have a set place in our television channel's lineup. One day we'll happen upon it as a happy surprise... and then we won't see it again for another few weeks.

Which is why we were excited to find out that Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride is available on DVD today, August 12th, to be enjoyed anytime, anywhere!

Peppa Pig The Balloon Ride

Immersing viewers in 60 minutes of the charm and magic of Peppa's world, Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride is broken into 12 fun-packed "Peppasodes" from the award-winning series. As each one is only around five minutes long, short attention spans don't ever get bored!

At the same time, I continually find that each of the storylines of this show still manage to contain plenty of Peppa's signature lighthearted, laugh-out-loud approach to storytelling that makes the show truly enjoyable for both children and parents.

The complete list of episodes on this DVD includes:
  • The Balloon Ride
  • The Cycle Ride
  • Whistling
  • George's Birthday
  • Ice Skating
  • Painting
  • The Baby Piggy
  • Very Hot Day
  • Daddy's Movie Camera
  • Dr. Hamster's Tortoise
  • The New Car
  • George Catches a Cold
As a major bonus to this great DVD, whether the theme of each "peppasode" is riding in a balloon, George waking up the family on his birthday, or how veterinarians take care of animals, the underlying message is always the celebration of the values of family, friendship, fun and humor.

Peppa Pig Very Hot Day
If this darling pink pig can help pass on positive messages such as kindness, consideration and listening to your parents while keeping us all entertained and giggling over the innocence and mischievousness of children, then it's no wonder that we have watched it over and over again!

Recommended for ages 2-7, Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride is one example of "feel-good children's programming" that the entire family is sure to enjoy. This new DVD is available now with a retail price of $14.98 on Amazon as well as in stores near you. We have yet to tire of seeing these cheeky little piggies and their friends and plan on inviting Peppa and her family into our home in more ways in the future!

And, thanks to the generosity of Entertainment One, one person will be ready to welcome the snorts and laughter of Peppa Pig into their home as well, because...

One lucky person will win a copy of Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride on DVD and a Peppa Pig Class Trip book!

My little brother adores peppa pig. some days peppa is the only thing that will calm him down enough for me and my mother to work as we both work at home. we look forward to rain so we can see him put his rain boots on and go play in the muddy puddles because you know piggys love muddy puddles. He is two years old and looks forward to his hour or two of tv everyday just so he can watch his peppa.
