Boudreaux's Butt Paste {Review & Free Sample}

Sensitive skin runs on my husband's side of the family and I actually tease him during the winter when he is diligently applying lotion to stay hydrated. How can I not giggle when he is double-checking to make sure every portion of his knee or lower back has been sufficiently covered?

Unfortunately though, it isn't very funny when having this skin has caused both of our daughters to have their share of diaper rash over the years. We have tried one diaper rash cream and then another and even another and have found that some seem to work better than others for quick relief, which is important. However, until now, we hadn't had the chance to try Boudreaux's Butt Paste (but instead only found humor in the name).

Having been featured everywhere from on Oprah to the Tonight Show to the Today Show and in People Magazine, Boudreaux's Butt Paste is great for preventing and protecting skin from diaper rash. Containing 16% zinc oxide, it isn't greasy or goopy at all but instead smooth without being sticky.

There are some diaper creams that smell like... ointment, if not worse. But I found that Boudreaux's truly is unscented and even after taking a few big sniffs, I couldn't detect an odor at all. Combine that with the convenience of the easy-to-use tube and the effectiveness that it displayed and I was happy to continue to use it after Little Sister B's diaper changes.

Little Sister B tends to have diaper rash off and on, but not usually anything severe. However, there are the times that I know I'm going to see redness simply by the way that she's squirming and whining before I even have the dirty diaper removed. Indeed, this happened right after the Boudreaux's Butt Paste had arrived, so I put it to the test to see how she would react.

As I gently applied the cream, Little Sister B actually calmed down and relaxed a little bit, which I was really pleased to see. It went on white, which helped me show where I had already covered and rubbed in easily. So far, I was happy. When the time came to change the next diaper, the Boudreaux's had managed to soothe her skin but not leave a thick pasty reside. Any remains were wiped easily away and I could see that the redness had already subsided. Definitely the results I was hoping to see!

Having never tried Boudreaux's Butt Paste before, I wish I had tried it years ago when Big Sister E was younger. For me, this cream met my expectations and lived up to any prior information that I had heard about it. Even though we don't have all that much more time with diapers in my house (woohoo!) I am definitely planning on having this funny green tube nearby to keep my baby's soft and delicate skin as safe and protected as possible.
