There are some days that my daughters and I never change out of our pajamas and you know, there's nothing wrong with that. However, on the days that it comes time to actually get dressed, I often find myself staring into Big Sister E's closet wishing an outfit would just jump out into my hands. Is it wrong of me to want her to wear something other than plain sweatpants and a boring t-shirt?
At the same time, I understand that she just wants to be comfortable - we all feel that way. But there has got to be a place to meet in the middle, right? Children's apparel that offers a way for girls to be girls while still keeping in mind the active lifestyle of being a kid. If we're heading to the library and then to meet friends at the park and then out to lunch (with maybe an errand or two thrown in), isn't there a place to shop for clothing that is stylish, comfortable and versatile enough that it will work for everywhere we're going?
Well, of course there is. To find all of that plus more, you shop at Little Pea.
Using her two beautiful daughters as the inspiration for starting her own clothing line, Little Pea creator, Sara McMahon, not only has experience with the apparel/textile industry but she knows what parents want when it comes to children's fashions. Just function isn't enough and just style isn't enough, today's modern moms and dads are looking for items that have the wow-factor. Something different and unexpected and unlike the usual that is filling their child's dresser and closet.
Browsing through the selection at Little Pea, it's hard to not notice the fun designs and bright colors included in the Spring 2010 collection. However, look a little closer and the details that make these clothes really special start to stand out. The fresh and fun pieces might have an adorably small pocket or a cute ruffle that gives it just a little something extra.
And when you put it all together, you have not only a piece that parents appreciate for its fashion and versatility, but one that any little girl will absolutely love to wear.
Big Sister E can be awfully particular about her clothes, but from the moment that she spied the Holland Dress in Aqua Floral, her grin couldn't be contained. Well-made and stylish, this could easily be worn out to meet with friends, to school or dressed up for a special occasion. Completely age-appropriate and comfortable, this dress allows my daughter to express a little of her personality through its laid back yet fashionable look.
Enthralled with not only being able to twirl the full skirt, Big Sister E was so excited about having a place (with ruffles!) that was just the right size for her little hands. "Pockets!" She kept exclaiming, alternating between putting her hands in and out and attempting to stuff all of her favorite toys inside. "Mommy, look at my pockets!"
Like the rest of the clothing from Little Pea, the Holland Dress comes in multiple fabric options and could easily fit right in with the rest of a young girl's wardrobe, while still making enough of a statement that it will turn heads. How can you not smile at a little girl's happiness in knowing that she looks adorable?
The tops, pants, skirts and dresses found at Little Pea are currently available online or at select retail stores across the nation. Mix-and-match them together or wear each one as a separate - either way they'll be functional with being boring! But be sure to shop soon, the spring and summer pieces are already in limited supply. And then head over and follow Little Pea on Twitter and become a Facebook fan so that you don't miss any announcements, sales or previews of the upcoming (really cute) fall line.
Even though it will be difficult to choose where to begin shopping, due to the generosity of Sara at Little Pea one person will have the opportunity to add some flair to the wardrobe of the little girl in their life, because...
