As soon as the weather even hinted that it might become warm, the racks of the stores around here were overflowing with swimsuits. Everywhere I looked there were signs of the upcoming beach and pool trips that had been in the back of people's minds all winter long.
But... I noticed something. The majority of the swimwear that I saw seemed to fall into two categories. One, the fun, brightly-colored patterned tiny bikinis designed for an age and lifestyle that I'm clearly past. Not exactly appropriate for chasing my toddler and preschooler around in the water, let alone something I would remotely feel comfortable wearing.
The second group of swimsuits? Borrrr-ing. Plain, simple, unflattering one-pieces or tankinis that would provide more coverage but c'mon, would it be that bad to show a small amount of personality in these things? Where was the swimwear that was the best of all worlds, combining fashion, style and color while still being modest and cute?
And then I found it. All along it's been waiting at the touch of my fingertips from Lime Ricki Swimwear.
The hardest part about shopping at Lime Ricki definitely is deciding which of their amazing styles to choose. Halter, racer-back, one shoulder... they have it all in their bright, hip and really fun tankinis and one-piece swimwear. Not only that, there are four different options in bottoms and two cover-ups - with all of the colors and patterns, the possibilities are endless (and really cute)!
Having never worn a V-strap top before, I was eager to see how comfortable the Jennie Tankini Top (shown above) would be in terms of fit and support as well as the length. What I found was that this swimsuit is just as amazing in person as it is in the picture, if not more so! As well as the great combination of the black, white and pop of bright pink, the details in the construction of this tankini really make it a quality piece.
The pink at the top not only adds color but also strength, as the elastic is stretchy but plenty strong enough that this top isn't going slide or droop when being worn. I love that Lime Ricki lined the entire tankini to give it an extra layer of of softness and durability, unlike others that I've seen where maybe only the chest area has a thin lining. Plus, the attached bra pads and shelf bra provide support no matter what size you are, so even if you're larger than a C cup it will hold you in and up and looking great.
Having reached the point where I like a little extra coverage on my swimsuit bottoms, I opted for the Black Cinch Skirt and was really happy with it as well. The built-in bottom is also fully lined and comfortable and having the light, adjustable skirt on top makes me feel a little less exposed to the world. I'd like it if the waist went up a little higher to cover more of my mom pooch, but the tankini top is plenty long enough that nothing peeks out when I'm swimming, playing or lounging in this swimwear.
Lime Ricki Swimwear was created for women to show off their style without having to compromise coverage or comfort. Their modest, high-quality swimsuits are splashy, fresh and fun but still allow you to bend over, dive in the pool or play with your kids without anything ending up out in the open. Forget having to adjust and readjust or worry about how you look and have a good time instead! Really though, how in the world can you pick just one...
When you do finally decide between the amazing colors and styles in one-pieces or tankinis as well as regular bottoms, boy shorts or skirts, you won't be disappointed with Lime Ricki Swimwear. It does run small, however, so be sure to order a size up from what you usually wear and you'll be set to hit the pool or beach looking fashionable and confident. And what would shopping be without a discount, right? Enter the promo code thxmc10 at checkout and save 10% on your order through July 31, 2010!
