Rothschild Coats and Outerwear for Kids {Review & Giveaway}

{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, vero!}

It seems like every time I turn around, my kids have outgrown yet another pair of pants, shoes or even socks. How is that possible?

Fortunately for Little Sister B, she has bins of clothing that her sister has outgrown to replenish her drawers... so all that's necessary is to check the wear and tear of them to see if they are in good enough shape to be worn again. Some of the shirts seem to have acquired holes and some of the sweatpants have had stains, but mostly I've done a decent job of purchasing items that manage to still look great time and time again.

One area in particular where is I have really focused on buying apparel that can be worn again and again is outerwear. Around here, jackets and coats are a necessity for quite a few months of the year, so finding one that is stylish, durable and high quality really makes a difference in how long it will be worn.

And, now that we have been introduced to RothschildKids.com, it is clear that they believe exactly the same thing.

Continuing in their tradition of providing quality coats and outerwear for children throughout the United States, Rothschild began selling coats over 125 years ago out of a horse-drawn cart. Today, their full line of outerwear for boys and girls in a variety of styles and sizes ranges all colors in sizes for infants to preteens.

As I knew that Rothschild is famous for its legacy wool-blend coats that are full of classic style, warmth and durability, I was interested in seeing just how well the Sporty Snowflake Winter Jacket would live up to those expectations in person.

Available in four different color combinations, I was not only thrilled with the stylish combination of the Cocoa/Eggplant/Lilac Ice that we received, but I immediately knew that it would hide any sort of dirt extremely easily. Plus, seeing that it came with a matching fleece hat and scarf, I love that we are now almost completely ready for when Big Sister E outgrows her current coat (which isn't looking like it will be that far off) - just add mittens and the full outfit is complete!

I love the quilted look of the 100% polyester shell and the way that it adds to the design without somehow detracting from the simple stylishness of it. Instead of just being plain, this just gives it a little... something more. And the addition of the piping on the sleeves and the cute embroidered sparkly snowflake detailing on the front and this coat could easily appeal to all ages.

The moment that Big Sister E spotted it, she couldn't wait to try this coat on to see how it fit.

As I had used RothschildKids.com's size chart in hopes of picking a heavyweight jacket that was a little too bit for her at the moment, this one fit Big Sister E exactly as I wanted. Even though it is a little loose and slightly long now, I could see that it will cover her perfectly when it comes time to wear this full time. Being that she loves to play outside in the snow but frequently complains about the cold, Big Sister E couldn't stop excitedly talking about the warmth provided by the thick layers of the shell and extra soft fleece lining.

Hmm. Do these come in my size?

To ensure complete comfort, the plushness of the faux fur collar is great and we were both excited about the variety of ways that this hood is going to keep Big Sister E safe from the cold. Not only does it completely cover her neck, it can be secured under her chin with Velcro or removed quickly and easily just by unzipping it.

From the fittest wrist cuffs to keep any hint of snow from slipping in to the way that this thick coat manages to not be too bulky to move, we're really happy with the Sporty Snowflake Winter Jacket and how much use I know we'll get out of it. Retailing for $65, it will surely hold up to multiple years of use for Big Sister E and then will definitely show up in Little Sister B's wardrobe in the future as well!

Whether you have an infant or a big kid, Rothschild has an option for the spring, fall or winter to fit any personality. Their easy-to-navigate site makes it simple to find the right size or type (for instance traditional jackets versus wool dress coats) and they even offer a range of snowsuits and snow pants to really get you ready for the cold.

And, thanks to the generosity of RothschildKids.com, one person will be able to prepare the little girl in their life (or that of a relative, friend or possibly a future baby?) for any winter weather in a sweet and adorable way, because...
