Saving Time, Money, Energy and My Sanity with the Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Washer and Dryer {#MaytagMoms}

Recently Big Sister E looked around our house and asked me what things we own weren't invented when I was her age.

Not sure if she thought that my childhood was before electricity or the wheel, I told her that we had quite a few of the same gadgets, appliances and technology — just previous versions of them.

Although the conversation gave me a chuckle, it also made me realize just how much we depend on all of the devices to do as they are designed. I know that I can reheat leftovers without the microwave... but that thought is tiring. And yes, I could survive without my computer... but oh, the horrors!

When it comes to keeping our clothes clean and fresh, I know people figured out how to do so before the washing machine was invented... but I sure don't envy them. For me, I don't like to even think back to before I joined the the Maytag Washer & Dryer Test Drive Campaign and life was made better with the arrival of the Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer and Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Electric Steam Dryer.

Maytag Bravos XL

The Maytag Bravos have the performance and versatility to help with just about every aspect of our household's laundry and I have quickly come to depend on them to save time, money, energy and sanity. After I raved about all of their features last month, they have proven me right again and again since then.

The Maytag Bravos XL save TIME:

At 4.6 cu. ft., Bravos XL HE washers are Maytag brand's largest capacity top load washers and have the ability to clean 21 towels in a single load. That's a whole lot of towels!

While I haven't yet had the need to test that stat, I have definitely noticed that this washing machine is larger than our previous model. In the past I was able to gauge how many loads I needed to separate our laundry into when I was getting ready to start the wash... and now I end up condensing those piles every time! What used to be four loads is down to three or often even two.

Cutting out full cycles of wash by having more cleaned at once is wonderful! Combine that with the 7.3 cu. ft. high-efficiency dryer and what used to feel like an all-day activity is now hardly a bother.

Plus, I love that the Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Electric Steam Dryer's Advanced Moisture Sensing technology was not only designed to save time (no more guessing at how long to set the dryer or having to run it again if things are still damp), but it saves money by evenly drying our clothes and virtually eliminating overdrying or shrinking. Anytime my family can get more wear out of our clothes means having to replace them even less!

The Maytag Bravos XL save MONEY and ENERGY:

Along with the money saved from not having to replace clothes that break down quickly or have been shrunk in the dryer and the time saved from having to do less laundry, the sheer size of these appliances is good for the environment as well as our pocketbooks.

According to Energy Star, the average household washers 400 loads of laundry per year. But with the increased capacity of the Maytag Bravos and the fact that they use 76% less water and 78% less energy, I have no doubt that number has drastically decreased for us, resulting in less water and electricity consumed. As with many things in life, in this case, less is more!

As well as just the smaller number of laundry cycles providing savings for us, the Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer has shown yet another way with their Cold Wash Cycle. This deep clean cold cycle powers out tough stains like wine, chocolate and ground-in dirt with its extra cleaning action and precise slow-motion soak.

The result? The cleaning performance of a warm water wash cycle with the energy savings of cold water!

The Maytag Bravos XL save SANITY:

According to research by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, performance is the most important factor for consumers when purchasing appliances. With each passing year, it seems that life becomes more and more hectic for each of us. Do you really want to waste precious moments fretting over having to rewash clothes that came out still dirty? Or listen to sulking from a family member when they find out that their favorite shorts/soccer jersey/dress pants are still not dry?

Knowing that these high performance machines are taking care of our laundry quickly, efficiently and effectively means one less thing to worry about and a shorter to-do list for me.

As a major added bonus around here, both of my girls agree that the Maytag Bravos are the coolest things around! If I even mention that I'm going to do laundry, they both run to get their dirty clothes and clamor over who gets to help load the machines by tossing things into the washer or helping move pieces into the dryer (after I've reached in and pulled them out of the top-loader for them).

And, even if they're not actively helping do the laundry itself, the kids' interest in these appliances has spread into the entertainment side as well. There have been multiple times when I've finally given up and walked away because the girls just want to watch the washer or dryer spin round and round!

Maytag Bravos XL HE

As doing laundry will forever be a fact of life, having a high quality, dependable, reliable, money- and time-saving washer and dryer is extremely important. At this point, the Maytag Bravos XL HE pair has met or surpassed each of my expectations and has turned a chore into a fun, family activity. I couldn't ask for more!

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Laundry Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with the Maytag washer and dryer set to facilitate my post.

My kids also love to get a stool and watch the washer in action. How funny! :-)

I never thought about trying to stuff myself in those machines, but yeah, I bet I could. They are HUGE!

I'm such a bad friend, haven't been over in forever. This set looks fab! I absolutely love how big ours are and they are definitely saving so much time with the laundry. Instead of a million loads daily I do one! Yay for that!

That's a really nice looking washer & dryer! I love top loaders that are still HE. I just prefer a top-load design. Not sure why.

The deep clean cold cycle is interesting. I'd like to learn more about that.
