The Most Universal Stroller Board Available: Joovy Bumprider {Review}

One of the continually reoccurring questions that new parents often wonder is When will this get easier?

And although others may feel differently, my thoughts are that Sorry, it doesn't. It's true that eventually your infant will sleep through the night and at some point you won't still be changing diapers, but as for easier? Nope. Parenthood just continues to evolve and instead of dealing with a toddler's tantrums, you'll instead be dealing with a tween's drama. It's not easier or harder, it's just different.

However, all of that is not to say that you can't take steps to make parenthood as stress-free as possible. Plan ahead with snacks to ward off cries of hunger, extra clothes to prepare for unseen messes and invest in the gear and products that are high quality, versatile and convenient. After all, the last thing you need is to struggle with a bulky high chair or an unsafe bassinet if you don't need to, right?

Which is why parenthood is made easier when there are companies that know and understand that (and have incredibly innovative products to help). Case in point, the unique and amazing Bumprider from Joovy.

Joovy Bumprider

A U.S.-based company that manufactures premium family gear products, Joovy's goal is to design and offer items that are extremely useful, practical, good-looking and fun. All of their innovative products have top-of-the-line features and use vibrant, high quality fabrics and materials — aspects that parents everywhere can definitely appreciate.

And, in the case of the Bumprider, Joovy has put their skills and ingenuity on display yet again. Where else would you be able to find the most universal stroller board available on the market?

With the way that the Bumprider is guaranteed to fit all stroller types due to its unique construction and almost endless adjustment possibilities, right away I knew that this would be a must-have for any parent of more than one child.

Right out of the box, I found that Joovy had again delivered a product requiring minimal assembly before it would be fully constructed and ready to go. Unlike the products that are accompanied by only written or illustrated instructions, they conveniently include both!

Joovy instructions

The Bumprider simply required popping the large wheels into place on the underside and it was ready to be attached to the stroller.

Considering that the arms are adjustable to three lengths and can angle to nearly any width, it wasn't hard to see that this really could be used with strollers (and prams, joggers, double strollers, etc) big and small.

The sturdy, quick-release clamps made it fast to attach (and remove) the Bumprider and it was clear that no matter what the configuration of the stroller (e.g. whether it has a basket, whether there are support bars running horizontal or vertical, etc), this was one device that would be able to adjust and adapt for everyone.

Once the clamps were in place, hooking on the Bumprider itself is a snap! The arms clip right into the clamps and the platform can then be leveled to horizontal and tightened solidly into place.

Then it's time to ride!

We did find that it takes a little getting used to having the Bumprider sticking off the back of the stroller and, depending on the adult's arm and leg length, those of us who are a little more vertically challenged have to watch where we step to ensure that we don't bump into the back of it.

But the convenience is truly unparalleled!

The Bumprider is suitable for children from 2 to 5 years of age and up to 45 pounds and every young tester that has tried this out has deemed it a great way to ride. They simply step right on to the non-slip surface and enjoy a relaxing, smooth ride thanks to the wheel suspension system.

Just as easy, when the Bumprider isn't in use, it takes less than a minute to loosen and flip it up out of the way. Joovy even included a handy clip and strap so that this board will stay securely up no matter what type of terrain or bumps it goes over.

As the Bumprider itself only weighs 4½ pounds, it really doesn't add extra weight or bulk to a stroller that would negate the convenience that it provides. I can think of an endless number of times and ways that this would be a lifesaver when an older child just doesn't want to walk anymore — theme parks, zoos, airports, shopping malls, charity walks... the list goes on and on!

Retailing for $119.99 (available directly from Joovy or on Amazon), the Joovy Bumprider is available in white or black and gives parents the ability to turn a single stroller into a double without the extra hassle, bulk and weight. Whether your are going for a short stroll or on a walk-filled vacation, this is one product that can end the whining and make the entire family happy!

Find out much more about the Bumprider and all of Joovy's high quality products by visiting them at Joovy.com and connecting with them on Facebook and Twitter.

Other than the Bumprider that I received from Joovy in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this post in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion about this product.

I can see how this would be great with more than one kid for sure. I distinctly remember how the walking child would get tired and whiny!

This is a great add on my only concern is, does it extend to far out where it is uncomfortable for the parent pushing the stroller.
