I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central for the National Pasta Association. I received pasta samples and a stipend to facilitate the creation of pasta recipes as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

To say that we enjoy pasta in our household is like saying that we enjoy when the sun shines. Of course we do!

Pasta fits into our busy lifestyle with easy, quick, and wholesome meal possibilities, it is a budget-friendly, heart-healthy option that is versatile enough to please every palate and the complex carbohydrates that pasta provides gives us fuel to power our muscles and brains. In short, it is simple and fast to prepare, good for our bodies and nearly guaranteed to please the entire family!

Therefore, it's no wonder that this month (October is National Pasta Month!) I've found myself thanking the National Pasta Association for indulging our love of pasta with their Pasta Fits campaign, a nutrition and culinary education initiative packed with pasta recipes and tips.

Most recently, I came across one recipe from Pasta Fits that I just couldn't pass up. Here it is in the fall, smack in the middle of prime pumpkin season, so how could I not experience the flavor of Honey Garlic Pumpkin Penne?

This inventive recipe combines honey, pumpkin, garlic and pasta, so right away I knew that it was going to be amazing. And, while it took a bit longer to prepare than some of my usual dishes due to roasting the carrots, onions and pumpkin, the end result was completely worth it.

I wasn't at all prepared for how much I would enjoy the combination of sweet and savory in this dish, as each bite has the tasty pasta, the richness of the pumpkin, the sugar from the honey and more. It all adds up to YUM and a feeling as though I had ordered a tasty meal at a restaurant!

No matter if you are bored with your weekly schedule of meals or just want to find some new recipes to make dinnertime run more smoothly, you'll want to head over to the Pasta Fits website to discover all sorts of information, tips, recipes, pasta pairings and more that your whole family is sure to love.

Thanks for the reminder to check out the Pasta Fits website. I'm always looking for interesting ways to use pasta, and this time I marked their One Pot Tomato Rosemary Linguine with Meatballs & Mozzarella recipe to try soon (although I'll probably make my own meatballs rather than use frozen ones). Looks great!
