Are You a Mom with an Idea? Submit it to the Huggies MomInspired Grant Program!

While I don't consider myself the next Thomas Edison or Alexander Graham Bell, I do like to think that I can come up with a good invention once in a while. After all, at one point or another we've all looked a problem and realized that we can invent a solution, right?

I think that moms are especially ingenius, as often the most unique and thoughtful inventions that I see come from the women that are simply trying to solve real parenting challenges every day in innovative ways. And I'm not the only one who thinks so!

Now in its third year, the Huggies MomInspired grant program celebrates the natural creativity of moms and gives them a chance to channel their moments of ingenuity into products that help improve the lives of children and parents everywhere.

As Huggies recognizes that there is a dynamic and talented community of moms who strive to make life as a parent easier and more enjoyable, the Huggies MomInspired grant program focuses on moms who solve real parenting challenges every day in innovative ways.

Huggies then awards select moms with grant money ($15,000 in seed capital as well as business resources to help turn innovative ideas into real-life inventions!) to explore and grow their own unique baby or child care ideas. Applications are currently being accepted through July 31, 2012 and grants will be announced and awarded in fall 2012.

Huggies awarded 21 grants in 2010 and 2011 to provide resources and seed capital to help fund business startups and new product innovations inspired by motherhood. Previous Huggies MomInspired grant recipients have developed products such as:

• Nausea relief band to ease pregnancy symptoms
• Magnetic baby clothing for easy diaper changes
• Sleep coaching

The Huggies MomInspired grant program will award up to twelve $15,000 grants this year to moms who want to launch a new, innovative baby or child care product that can ease parents' messes and stresses.
