Britax B-AGILE Double Stroller {Review}

It's no secret that there are a lot of strollers out there. From travel systems to umbrellas to joggers, it's often bewildering for first-time parents to see all of the options and wonder what makes one better than the others.

However, once you've moved on and have selected one and you're (hopefully) happily using and enjoying it, the inevitable usually happens: baby #2. Right back to where you started, now you're in the world of tandems versus side-by-side and wondering about the newer "in-line" models and if the child in the second seat can actually see around the first seat...

Fortunately there are companies that combine innovation, quality and versatility and are dedicated to improving baby products for busy mothers and can be turned to without hesitation. With an unparalleled commitment to improving child safety in every product that they make, Britax is, without a doubt, a leader in the world of car seats, strollers and baby carriers.

Britax

Known for being one step ahead of the competition in terms of their incredibly durable products, Britax goes to the extreme when it comes to testing and retesting each item that they sell.

Combine that with top-of-the-line quality, convenient features and extremely stylish looks to their items, and I was pretty interested (okay, more like over-the-moon-in-anticipation interested) in seeing their new B-AGILE Double Stroller person.

Britax B-Agile Double Stroller

The B-AGILE Double includes a very long list of features that were clearly designed and included with both the children and the parents in mind. From the height adjustable handle to the less-than-30.5" wide frame to ensure that it fits through standard doorways easier than most double strollers... moms everywhere can appreciate the thought that went into each aspect of the B-AGILE Double's unique design.

But the children definitely weren't left out in the thought process, as there is plenty to make this a smooth and comfortable ride. The independently reclining seats adjust to any angle, the separate, full-coverage canopies provide plenty of protection from the sun, and the no-thread, five-point safety harnesses can be easily adjusted for all ages — all of which are just a start of the many reasons that kids will love the B-AGILE Double as much as moms and dads.

When the large box arrived, I was thrilled that it was time to see this beauty in person.

Britax B-Agile Double Stroller assembly

Although there was a brief second when I was removing each piece of this stroller from the box that I wondered how long the assembly process would be, that quickly disappeared as soon as I began flipping through the provided manual.

The front swivel wheels (which are lockable) popped right into place...

...as did the very large, durable back wheels.

Popping the stroller open, all that was left to do was slide the individual canopies into place and I was ready to stand back and admire the overall style and design.

Britax B-AGILE Double Stroller review

Checking out the features closer, it was clear that Britax included pretty much everything that a parent could ask for in a highly functional double stroller. For starters, the cushioned, padded seats recline independently, so there is never any worry if one child wants to take a nap and the other does not.

With only one hand, simply slide the clip located right on the back of the seat to the desired level and the seat leans back. When it's time to be upright again, just slide the clip tighter and you're done. I love simplicity, especially if it is going to make naptime on-the-go more comfortable and convenient!

Speaking of convenient, the B-AGILE Double is full of things to make your life easier when using, storing or traveling with it.

I absolutely adore how quick and simple it is to fold, as you only have to press a single button and then pull up on the labeled straps on the seats. The entire thing folds in half and, due to the lightweight aluminum frame (28 pounds, which is much lighter than many other double strollers I've ever tried to lift), you're able to load it in the back of a car or lift it onto public transportation without a huge amount of effort. It even stands on its own!

Along with the easy fold and lock system, I appreciate that the B-AGILE Double has a height adjustable handle (something that my tall husband has pointed out more than once)...

...and a large, roomy storage basket right underneath the seats. As well as having access to the basket from the back (which is typical), Britax also thought to include the ability to get to it by lifting the front foot rests. This seemingly simple idea is genius when you have a sleeping child who has their seat laid back and is blocking the rear access!

Britax B-AGILE Double storage

If the large bottom basket isn't enough room for you, there are also two additional storage pockets behind the seats that are great for things such as your phone, keys or wallet when you head out for a walk.

While comfort and convenience are abundant in this stroller, that doesn't mean that Britax didn't strongly focus on safety as well. The adjustable, five-point harness can be fit to your child without having to re-thread it (yay!) and the single parking brake locks both rear wheels tight with one click.

All of these features add up to one absolutely incredible stroller! We were able to bring the Britax B-AGILE Double with us to Orlando to give it a real workout at Disney World, SeaWorld and more (as well as see how it would hold up to being gate checked by the airlines) and it couldn't have performed better!

stroller for Disney World

Everywhere we went, it folded and unfolded quickly and easily and it was plenty lightweight enough that we could pick it up and move it without it being a hassle. Both of my girls adored the comfortable seats and the all-wheel suspension provided an extremely smooth ride for them as well as very easy pushing for my husband and me.

The large canopies were perfect for keeping away too much sun, while the included ventilation windows pulled down to let the air flow in the warm weather and for communication between pusher and pushees (as well as to allow me to call out, "Yes, I can see you. Stop poking your sister!")

I was happy that, along with the sun, the canopies proved to be wonderful for keeping away much of the rain that came down on us...

...as the girls simply pulled up the canopies and then covered their legs with a poncho. In the future we'll be sure to purchase the B-AGILE Double Rain Cover for even more rain protection... as well as the B-AGILE Double Child Trays for quick and easy snacking on the go.

We have been nothing but thrilled with the B-AGILE Double stroller since the day it arrived and I have no doubt that we will be using this stroller as long as both of my girls need rides. Considering that this is actually designed to be an on-the-go travel system using the included Britax Click & Go receivers, the B-AGILE Double would have been the perfect to start using from the day that Little Sister B was born.

Available in black or red, the Britax B-AGILE Double retails for $449.99 (or a bit less on Amazon) and is appropriate for children from birth up to 50 pounds per seat. We have already used this stroller multiple times since our vacation (at various fairs, festivals and events) and, other than a scuff or two, it still performs and looks like new. We couldn't be happier with it!

(Other than the B-AGILE Double stroller that I received from Britax, I was not provided with anything or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my opinion of this incredible product.)

Thanks for the awesome review. I already have the stroller as well and can back up all the great features. I want to know more about your airport adventures and how it held up in Disney World. Did you check it at the gate? Or did you send it with your luggage? Did you use a cover? I have a 4 and 1 year old and probabl would check it at the gate. Was it easy to manuver in Disney? In shops etc? Thanks!

Hi Julianne (I couldn't find your email address to send you a response),

This stroller did perfectly our entire trip! We did check it at the gate (I just folded it down and adjusted the handle so it wasn't sticking out) both directions and it made it without any problems.

We didn't have any sort of cover (a rain cover would have been nice for the kids on the day that it rained!) but the canopies worked very well for shade and rain protection. The small width made it easy to maneuver this into shops - we even navigated small aisles in one of the crowded, cafe-style restaurants and only had to ask one or two people to pull their chairs in a tiny bit. :)

Overall we would definitely bring this back to Disney in the future! I hope that helps and that you have a great trip!

This was an excellent & informative review! I am 37 weeks pregnant & I have an 18M old. My husband & I originally had our eyes on the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Select but I couldn't wrap my head around the price $579.00!! and the forever air-tires made me nervous. I like the fact that the B-Agile is has all the same features that originally attracted us to the Baby Jogger yet saving us $200. I also like the big EVA wheels in the back which make the stroller easy to schlep up & down a flight of stairs being that we live in a walk up.

I've been searching for an answer & hope you can help. I have my britax b-agile double & am IN LOVE with it! We will be going to disney soon & of course will be bring the b-agile with us (my kiddos will be 3 & 1 1/2, so we DEFINITELY will need it) up till gate check. My question was did you use a gate check bag? If so which one? If not do you know of one that will fit the b-agile double? I really don't want my stroller to get dirty amongst other things.

Hi Samie,

Great question! I looked for a gate check bag before our trip as well because I also didn't want this stroller to get dirty - unfortunately I couldn't find one that was large enough to fit the dimensions, so we went without. It ended up only with a little scuff on the handle and maybe a smudge or two of dirt along the bottom (where the kids' feet go anyway), so I was happy with that.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!

I know this review is a few years old now, but we are considering this stroller for several upcoming trips (Disney is the main one!) for our kids ages 2 and 5. How old were your kids in these pictures? Are you still able to use this stroller? Any thoughts on it for big kids? Thanks!

Hi Maria,

We loved having this stroller at Disney - my kids were 3 and 5 at the time of this review.

Unfortunately they have outgrown this now (height as well as being well over the weight limit), so we aren't able to use it any longer. I think if both of your children are looking for a constant place to sit, then this stroller will be perfect...

However, for bigger kids, we recently took a trip with the Joovy Caboose VaryLight and it was FANTASTIC (my kids are now 5 and 7). It allowed space for each of them and my older daughter could hop on and off quickly and easily. I'd highly recommend it for extended use and older kids!

Have a great trip!!
