AVON Launches Body Illusions Shapewear Collection {Review}

AVON logo
There are a lot of sayings and phrases that irk me, but one that causes particular annoyance is There's no magic solution to weight loss.

I find it just so annoying that there is a magic solution to other things — a cream that you can rub on to regrow hair on your bald spot, a cleaning tool that will eliminate the marks off of your carpet or a phone case that automatically charges the battery better than ever before — but losing weight is so darn hard.

Finding the time, energy, and motivation to work out while watching every last thing you eat is something that doesn't just happen with the snap of your fingers. But I know that I'm only one of millions of women out there who would love to be able to magic away our love handles and mom pooches, right?

So, until the day that science invents that elusive magic solution, I will instead always reach for my own boost of confidence that can come with high quality shapewear products such as the new Body Illusions collection from AVON.

AVON Body Illusions

With so many ways to be stylish and trendy for women of all ages and body types, Avon has a huge selection, flattering options, and great colors that great year-round. From makeup and skincare to dresses and jackets to handbags, accessories and footwear, AVON really has everything you are shopping for all in one place!

So, while I have long admired AVON's chic apparel options, I was just as glad to see that they have now launched a shapewear collection to help flatter even more. Whether you are preparing to pull on a pencil skirt, a form-fitting dress or a pair of skinny jeans, the Body Illusions items ensure that your "problem areas" are smoothed and flattened.

Yes, please!

Avon shapewear

From your shoulders to your knees, the Body Illusions Bodysuit covers comfortably and provides all-over smoothing, which is something I definitely appreciate.

I love the softness of the nylon with spandex fabric and the overall way that this bodysuit deals with everything around the midsection, back bulge, tummy, hips, waist, and thighs. Why would I wear a dress without having this underneath to give me a little extra slimming?

Avon Body Illusions Bodysuit

I love that the compression panel in the middle of the Body Illusions Bodysuit provides extra control on my stomach and waist, but not to the point that I feel suffocated or as though I'm wearing a corset. Instead, there is an overall "tucked in" look that is customized with the adjustable shoulder straps.

While this garment does require taking off multiple layers when it comes time to use the restroom, I find that the effort is worth it for the seamless comfort and the way that I feel so much better about my tummy, hips and thighs!

Body Illusions bodysuit

For maximum slimming without the shoulder straps and chest coverage, the Hi-Waist Thigh Slimmer has a high-compression panel to focus its extra control on the tummy and waist.

As those are two problem areas that I'd definitely like a little (a lot) more control over, being able to easily pull this on and have it lay smooth and flat under my clothes does wonders for me. Just having the feeling of my clothes fitting better and that my love handles aren't hanging out for the world to see is definitely worth it!

Created from the same durable nylon with spandex fabric as the Bodysuit, I appreciate that AVON made the Hi-Waist Thigh Slimmer comfortable and breathable (I just wish that this piece was a few inches higher so that it would be less likely to slide down my ribcage when I move), resulting in a simple and easy boost to my figure (and ego).

Avon Body Illusions Hi-Waist Thigh Slimmer

After having tried out both of these great AVON Body Illusions products, I'm happy with the results and, unsurprisingly, am impressed with yet another AVON creation. Each of these pieces can be machine washed for easy care and I expect to be reaching for them for special events as well as everyday dressing for quite some time to come.

Even better, while I've often seen shapewear priced anywhere from $40 - $60, AVON has made it extremely affordable to tuck in your tummy, waist and thighs — the Body Illusions Bodysuit retails for $21.99 and the Body Illusions Hi-Waist Thigh Slimmer is only $16.99!

Find out more about these, the full Body Illusions line and all of AVON's great products by visiting avon.com (you can also contact your Avon Representative or locate one by calling 1-800-FOR-AVON). Be sure to also connect with all things AVON on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Other than the two Body Illusions products I was provided by AVON in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this post in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion on these products.

Years ago, Avon used to have a clothing line, but it morphed into Newport News. It's nice to see they've put their impressive name behind what looks like a great new line for women. Thanks for the post about it.

This is great, I'm surprised that Avon didn't come up with a line of body slimming undergarments sooner. Thank you for this review, I can't wait to purchase a set of these body slimmers.

Not my cup of tea. I gave up girdles 40 years ago.

I don't consider this a magic potion for weight loss. Just smushing body parts into other places.

Year ago the girdle was in with the only way to hold up nylons was this and a garter belt. We have come a long way too! I am not one to wear these items unless it was under some slinky dress and I wanted to really look great! I sometimes think we over do things too much. Rita Spratlen rj7777
