Nutrisystem {Week 21}

Nutrisystem BloggersI have to admit that I wasn't sure that Nutrisystem would be able to hold up to everything that happened this past week.

Starting with Reviewer's Retreat and the amount of food that was available... I really wasn't so sure how things were going to turn out. The Great Wolf Lodge has a buffet restaurant that made my eyes open wide every time we set foot inside. I was going to be able to eat somewhere that allowed you to fill up as many plates as you wanted and not go crazy?

Then, if that wasn't bad enough, the Reviewer's Retreat gals had tasty snacks set up throughout the conference sessions and things like a Sweet Dreams Pajama Party that had an entire wall of ice cream, toppings, and a chocolate fountain (I didn't take too many pictures, but a quick look through the conference Flickr group will show you just some of the delicious foods available).

Sigh. Yum.

Fortunately, I spent that party hanging out with the most awesome Scavenger Hunt team around and we were too busy talking and laughing to go up and make 10 sundaes like I might have otherwise.

After making it home from Reviewer's Retreat, I thought maybe I was in the clear for the rest of the week... but then remembered that my husband had gone and purchased tickets for us to go see the infamous Jon Bon Jovi on tour.

Not that I was planning on overeating at the concert itself, but the two of us did get dressed up to go out to a nice dinner by ourselves beforehand and that possibly involved a little too much bread and pasta than it should have.

So, after a week of being completely out of my normal routine, I didn't really have all that high of hopes for what the scale would tell me this morning. I figured if I didn't gain any weight (or at least not too much) then I would consider it a success.

Surprisingly, I stepped on the scale and found...

Nutrisystem NationPrevious loss: 21.2 lbs

This week: -0.8 lbs

Total loss: 22.0 lbs

Really?? I have no idea how that's even possible, but I'm definitely not going to complain! Clearly being a part of the Nutrisystem Nation for 21 weeks has taught me more than I even realized about portion control and making good choices... even when I'm faced with far too much temptation.

I really couldn't be happier about this program and love the fact that, even if they're just tiny steps, each week does bring me closer and closer to a goal that I never thought I'd reach. Ever. How did you do that? Well, that lava cake was lousy and the scavenger hunt was like a week's worth of exercise, so bravo to you!

Wow! That is awesome that you didn't gain any weight through all of that. I think I gained a pound just reading about it all. ;-) Hopefully I will have the same luck after my vacation this weekend!

It sounds like you had a great week!
