OverLand Equipment: Function, Style and Organization for your Active Lifestyle {Shasta Bag Review & Coupon Code!}

Similar to selecting just the right pair of shoes to complete an outfit, I've always felt that I've needed a different purse or bag depending on who I'm with, where I'm going, and what I'm doing.

But even though I seemed to have plenty of clutches, handbags, tote bags and more, there wasn't one that fit my requirements for being The One. The bag that, without a doubt, I know that I can grab and go. The one that is big enough to stash all of my belongings, yet small enough that it doesn't feel like I'm dragging around a duffel bag.

To top it off, my ideal bag has to allow me to go hands-free. Therefore, just being able to hike it up on my shoulder isn't enough. No matter if I'm in a store shopping or trekking through the zoo, I want my belongings to be comfortably held out of the way.

With all of my requirements, it goes without saying that I was pretty certain that I wasn't going to find my ideal bag anytime soon.

And then I was introduced to OverLand Equipment.

OverLand Equipment

For 30 years, OverLand Equipment has designed, developed, and manufactured bags with the consistent intent of providing well-organized solutions for active, everyday use. As soon as I began to browse their website, I was drawn to the durability, versatility and attractiveness of each of their items. Had I really found a site that offered The One?

After a few more clicks, I found her: Shasta.

A combination sling and backpack, OverLand Equipment's Shasta is a one-shoulder, simple, rugged bag that is designed to last a lifetime. Right away I was drawn to the clean design and complete versatility — this was the perfect way to stay organized and have plenty of room, while still keeping the slim, low-profile styling of my dreams!

Available in four great color options (green, black, blue and red), I spent quite a while debating which one would fit my lifestyle best. When the Storm Blue Shasta arrived, I had high hopes that it would be as great in person as it looked online... and it was.

OverLand Equipment review

Measuring in at 18.5" long and 8" wide, Shasta is made from extremely strong nylon and features a comfortable, adjustable shoulder strap (with buckle) to customize it for a perfect fit. The padding that runs the full length of the bag and strap is just right to relieve any sort of pressure and no matter how much I've stuffed into Shasta, it never feels as though it is pulling or poking me anywhere.

When it comes to filling Shasta, this bag appears small but is deceptively large. Along with the one small pocket on the front (I love dropping my keys in and knowing they'll be right there within reach), there are two larger compartments that run the length of the bag and can hold much more than they appear at first glance.

Whether as a travel bag (this was PERFECT for our trip to Disney World), a small gym bag, a day bag, or an everyday purse, your belongings can easily fit into Shasta with room to spare. I was thrilled when I realized that my iPad could slide right into the main pocket, and it is no problem to grab my kids' hats, sunscreen, and water bottles for an afternoon at the park.

Speaking of staying hydrated, my favorite water bottle is quite large and I adore the long, open pocket on Shasta that allows me to slide the whole thing right in with no problem!

I have yet to come up with something that Shasta doesn't do or is missing! This bag feels great when worn (I tend to forget it is there, which is always a good sign) and I love how accessible all of the pockets are without having to take it off — just slide it around to the front. The adjustable strap ensures that it always feels ergonomic and comfortable, and each of the compartments ensure convenience and organization.

I just couldn't be happier with all of the thought that OverLand Equipment put into Shasta to make this a must-have bag for all occasions and I have no doubt that I will be using it for years and years to come!

First, what the heck is up with that crazy pop-up ad?

But on the bag, I can see how that would be great for outdoorsy kind of days, like the park or going for a walk, or that kind of thing!

My daughter says she wants a bag like this so when she goes back to school she doesn't have to carry a bulky bag.

Cute. I'm not usually a big fan on sling bags, but I really like this one.
