LightAir IonFlow 50 Air Purifier {Review}

LightAirWhen I read about studies and statistics showing that their are more pollutants in the air inside our homes than outside, that just makes me cringe. With the amount of time that we spend indoors around here, the idea that my family and I are breathing in so much air that isn't clean is frightening. What is that doing to my kids' developing bodies, lungs, and immune systems?

And, as things like opening the window or traditional air filters aren't the solution, then what should I be doing?

The answer is turning to the experts at LightAir. Through their extensive and ongoing research in ways to improve people’s health and comfort in the best indoor air quality possible, it's no wonder that a product such as their new IonFlow 50 is miles above the rest when it comes to air purifiers.

LightAir IonFlow 50By developing products that combine efficiency, design, functionality, and ease of use to provide you with healthier indoor air, LightAir has found a way for consumers to have stylish looks, features, and performance in their IonFlow 50.

Available in three models, the IonFlow 50 Style is designed to stand on the floor, the IonFlow 50 Surface is made for the floor or tabletop, and the IonFlow 50 Sky hangs from the ceiling. I always appreciate a company that allows versatile options and by having three versions of this air purifier, you are able to customize exactly for your space.

When the IonFlow 50 Surface arrived, I couldn't wait to see what this could do for the quality of our air.

LightAir air purifierJust reading over the box provided me with an amazing amount of information but again made me think about the dust, dirt, pollen, mold, and other airborne contaminants that were floating around me. So what can the LightAir IonFlow 50 do about that?

Instead of moving air through a filtration system like most all machines do, LightAir actually removes harmful particles from the air and traps them in a collector. That means that even the smallest pollutants can be eliminated... and for anyone who has asthma, allergies or respiratory problems, that can make a huge difference.

Of, for people like me who just hope that my home has the best possible air quality, we can be happy that this futuristic technology now exists in such a modern, stylish way.

Pulling the IonFlow 50 out of the box, I was surprised (and pleased) to find that there really wasn't all that much involved in putting together something that I thought might be so complicated.

air purifierIn fact, after having all of the pieces laid out...

air purifierI found that assembling the actual air purifier together took only a minute or two to attach the base to the top. However, the remaining pieces came together to form a protective guard, so I did take the time to snap each slat into place so that I would have this ready to keep the curious little fingers in my house safely away from getting shocked.

air purifier safetySitting back to see the completed look, I could see why the IonFlow 50 is known for it's attractive, award-winning design. After all, who knew that something proven to remove 99.94% of airborne pollutants could be so darn pretty?

modern air purifierMeasuring in at 7" x 7" x 22", the IonFlow 50 is made for rooms up to 540 square feet and couldn't be much easier to use. The compact, slim design means it can fit just about anywhere as long as it is three feet away from walls and furniture (to keep them from getting dirty) and at least 1.5 feet away from other items.

The entire thing is not heavy to move and once it is plugged in you simply press the single power button to turn it on.

LightAir power switchOne tap of the button turns on just the air purifier, another tap turns on the air purifier as well as the decorative light, and another tap after that turns them both back off. During the day the soft blue light isn't all that noticeable, but when there isn't a lot of background light, it does look awfully cool...

attractive air purifierAnother bonus of the light being on in the transparent acrylic stand is that when the IonFlow 50 is running, it truly is completely silent. In fact, if it wasn't for the small power light on the top, there have been quite a few times where I'm not actually sure if it is turned on.

As well as the usual fan noise, one major drawback to other air LightAirpurifiers is that they require expensive filters that need to continually be purchased and changed. Instead, the IonFlow 50 is much more economical and easy to maintain, as you just remove the aluminum collector once every few weeks and wash it in hot water and dishwashing liquid. Simple!

The LightAir IonFlow 50 really does combine the best features for a top-of-the-line air purifier and I really like the "clean air" feeling that it provides for me. Research has proved that it is extremely effective at attracting and eliminating the smallest airborne pollution LightAirparticles that are considered to cause the most severe health problems and it does it all silently and ozone-free.

It is energy efficient, economical, easy to assemble and operate, and is plenty stylish enough to put in any room of the house. I won't pretend that I understand the science behind the negative ions in the purifier and the way that they attach to the positively charged, harmful particles in the air... but if they can effectively remove dust, pollen allergens, bacteria, mold, pet dander, and more, then that just makes the eye-catching look even more aesthetically appealing.

Much more information about LightAir and the technology and performance of the IonFlow 50 can be found on their website. The IonFlow 50 Surface can also be purchased directly from their webshop for $395, at a dealer near you, or on Amazon (for quite a savings).

(Other than the LightAir IonFlow 50 Surface that I received in order to facilitate my review, I was not provided with anything or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my opinion of this company and this product.)

My husband and Zoe have allergies like crazy. We are looking into purchasing something for our home. This is high priced but sounds like it may actually work. I'm amazed that there are more pollutants in our homes than outside. Crazy.
