There are some beauty regimens that I can't foresee ever taking part in.
Sure, I'm not looking forward to wrinkles, but Botox? No thanks, not for me. I'd also love to be rid of my love handles, but something scary like liposuction? I'm sticking with no, thanks on that as well.
However, when it comes to listening to all of the hype about having a bright smile, I know that there are at-home methods of achieving results that can save time... and supposedly money.
Yes, buying a kit is cheaper than having your teeth professionally whitened, but I have to admit that some of the prices tags for the home options still seemed awfully expensive to me. Which is why I was excited to be introduced to Plus White and the Plus White 5 Minute Speed Whitening System, retailing for a whopping $10.49.
Having tried a few of the leading brands in the past and ending up satisfied but never thrilled (mainly because even though they didn't cost the $600 of laser whitening or up to $300 for trays at the dentist, they were still in the $40 - $50 range), I was skeptical but hopeful that Plus White would be able to compare even with costing only a fraction of the price.
When the Plus White 5 Minute Speed Whitening System arrived, right away I could see that this was going to be a quick and easy process.
Containing only three items, the system came with a Pre-Whitening Rinse, the Plus White Speed Whitening Gel, and a mouth tray.
Simply use the Pre-Whitening Rinse first to help loosen and remove plaque, apply the gel to the tray, and place it along your teeth. As the formula for Plus White's Teeth Whitening Gel contains the same bleaching action that dentists use to visibly remove excess stains and bleach teeth, it is proven to whiten your teeth and give you results that rival any expensive treatment.
Really, the steps couldn't be much easier.
After mixing one teaspoon of the concentrated Pre-Whitening Rinse with three teaspoons of lukewarm water, give it a swish around your mouth for 2 to 3 seconds before spitting it out.
Next, squeeze a small, continuous line of the Whitening Gel into the mouth tray (choosing how much depends on if you are whitening just your front teeth, your front and back teeth, or your upper and lower teeth), insert into your mouth, and bite down very gently.
The only things to remember are to not apply too much of the Whitening Gel to the tray (otherwise it will end up oozing everywhere) and that very little pressure is required to achieve maximum results. Just let the tray rest in your mouth for five minutes for regular whitening or 10 - 15 minutes for badly stained or yellow teeth, rinse, and you're done!
Although I found it took an application or two of getting used to just the right amount of Whitening Gel to apply, I never once had a problem with the Plus White System tasting bad, irritating my gums or in general being difficult at all.
As for the results? They were noticeable immediately! Each time I used this at-home kit I felt as though my teeth became a little whiter and it was easy to follow Plus White's recommendation to use it twice daily for two weeks before tapering to one or two applications per week (or as needed) after that.
With such a variety of product on the market that claim to provide professional teeth whitening results at home, I'm happy to have found one that lives up to its claims without taking a toll on my budget. No wonder Plus White has had such a loyal fan base for more than 20 years!
