Celebrate Easter with The Swiss Colony {Review & Giveaway}

The Swiss Colony logo{This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, Kimmie!}

With Easter right around the corner, that means there are little suits and dresses to pick out, plastic eggs to fill and hide, and baskets that need to be stocked with goodies. Maybe because the date changes every year, but Easter always seems to jump out of nowhere for me and arrive without warning.

And as much fun as the planning and preparing is, no matter what I do, the Easter baskets that I pull together never end up as cute (or tasty) as those that I have now been introduced to at The Swiss Colony.

The Swiss ColonyA family-owned company, The Swiss Colony originated the tradition of sending food gifts by mail in 1926 and has never looked back. Over 80 years later and they now offer hundreds of festively packaged gifts, ranging from cheeses, cheese spreads, and specialty meats to chocolates, butter toffee, and a ton of decadent desserts.

When it comes to celebrating Easter, The Swiss Colony has everything from traditional baskets to unique treats that are perfect to send to friends or family at home or across the country.

I sure wouldn't turn away this adorable Bunny Cake if it came knocking on my door...
Easter Bunny cake...although I'm pretty sure that its combination of eleven layers of white cake and rich chocolate butter cream filling wouldn't last long around here.

Likewise, it's probably a good thing that The Swiss Colony kept their Carrot Cake Petits Fours to themselves, because these bite-sized cakelets probably wouldn't have made it all the way into the kitchen before I had them devoured.

carrot cakeMmmm... come to me, carrot cake, you know you want to...

However, being the nice wife that I am, I let my husband select his own delicious item from The Swiss Colony for his Easter present this year because I knew he would appreciate it (and feel less guilty eating it than I would). Always on the lookout for something sweet, I wasn't completely surprised when he happily picked out the Spring Fruit Gel Slices.

Arriving in their own decorative tin, these orange, lime, cherry, blueberry, raspberry, watermelon, grape, lemon, and grapefruit flavored wedges are brightly-colored and just right to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Easter basketNeither my husband nor I had realized that these yummy candies would be individually wrapped (even though it does say it right in the description), but I think that is a great feature - making them stay fresh and chewy from the first taste to the last.

Plus, it would make these a perfect thing to bring to an office or other location where they would sit out for people to share... if you're willing to share, of course. I'm not sure the taste-testers around here would be all that pleased if these were all given away.
kids candyRetailing for $15.95 for just over 1 pound and $29.95 for 2¼ pounds, the Spring Fruit Gel Slices from The Swiss Colony are a sugary sweet way to celebrate Easter as well as the arrival of spring.

With everything from cute to practical, the selection at The Swiss Colony is sure to make any lucky recipient's mouth water from the moment they open the box. There are quite a few affordablewatermelon cake options that are less than $20, so there is no need to break the bank to celebrate the holiday in a tasty way.

Order before April 13 and you are guaranteed an Easter arrival at the lowest shipping cost, not to mention a lower likelihood of your favorite being sold out! If you're a Facebook addict, there is even a new Shop for Easter tab on The Swiss Colony's Facebook page so that you can put in your order quickly and easily right there.

And, thanks to their generosity, one person will be able to enjoy a delicious Easter treat as well, because...
