New Peppa Pig Plush, Toys, Books and App {Review}

Ever since the day last year that we were introduced to a charming new character and series featuring a family of pink pigs talking, laughing and snorting their way through cute adventure after cute adventure... my kids have been hooked.

Instead of immediately losing interest (as they often do), they have adored watching episodes over and over as they giggle and snort right along. What can I say? Peppa Pig is a favorite!

A longtime favorite with British children, Peppa Pig arrived in the U.S. in early 2011, airing on Nick Jr for preschool-aged children. This adorable series stars Peppa, a loveable, energetic little piggy, along with her family – her little brother, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig – as they play games, dress up, go to school, take family trips and, best of all, jump in muddy puddles... all with a sweet and engaging British accent.

So while my girls have enjoyed the snorts, muddly puddles and cute jokes on the screen and playing with any and all Peppa Pig toys and books that we already owned, I had no doubt that they would be even more excited to bring the magic of the hit series home with even more Peppa-themed fun!

Peppa Pig review

Available now at Toys 'R Us, our assortment of Peppa Pig items were bright, colorful and great for kids. I had no doubt that the girls' eyes were going to pop out when they saw all of the fun awaiting them!

Right away, the Muddy Puddles Bathtime Peppa (by Fisher-Price) had them bursting at the seams to turn on the water and begin playing with this unique playset.

Including a Peppa figure, a George squirter, a washing brush and a bathtub storage container that sticks tight with suction cups, this cute set has had both girls excited about taking a bath time and again.

They love the way that the bathtub can be attached to the tub, the tile wall, the sink and more and have gotten a big kick out of squirting water from George's snout and watching Peppa's muddy spots magically disappear in warm water.

Retailing for $12.99, Muddy Puddles Bathtime Peppa is an adorable way to include our favorite pig in yet another room of the house!

And, once bathtime is over and pajamas are on, there's no better way to extend the Peppa love than with Bedtime Peppa.

The perfect nighttime pal for anyone who loves Peppa, this 11" plush Peppa Pig doll is cute, loveable and just the right size for kids to love and snuggle with when falling asleep. Bedtime Peppa (retail price $26.99) comes donned in her pajamas and carrying her blankie, so she's all set to be a part of playtime, bedtime, travels and more!

But that's not all! Bedtime Peppa also sings lullaby songs, oinks, plays a counting sheep game, says goodnight when you lay her down, wakes up when you pick her up, and more. She's just the right way to allow young fans to continue their fun piggy adventures into their dreams!

For a slightly quieter way to enjoy our favorite pig family, the new book Peppa Pig and the Busy Day at School (from Candlewick Press) is a wonderful school-themed book that kids are sure to want to hear over and over again.

The clear, bright illustrations look as though they are right from our television screen and the sweet story of Peppa and her friends at school learning numbers, letters and participating in Special Talent Time have made this 32-page hardcover book a favorite.

Retailing for $12.99, Peppa Pig and the Busy Day at School is one picture book that would make a great gift and, as a bonus, the book jacket turns into a coloring poster for kids!

Finally, when they're not watching Peppa Pig, playing with the playsets, reading the book and more, my kids have been immersing themselves in the virtual world of Peppa with the new Peppa Pig's Sports Day app.

Peppa Pig's Sports Day app

Available on iTunes and Amazon, this interactive app includes six sports-themed games played by Peppa and her friends and a bonus digital sticker book... and my kids can't seem to get enough of playing over and over!

Whether racing on bikes, playing tug-of-war, running a race or more, they love that they are able to select which characters are involved and have a hand at controlling who wins, what the ribbons look like, and more. As a side note, I adore that this app does NOT contain in-app purchasing, so I never have to worry about anyone clicking on any ads or anything that they shouldn't!

Little Sister B had a friend over to play recently and the thing that she was MOST excited to show her was the Peppa's Sports Day app!

We have yet to tire of seeing and playing with these cheeky little piggies and their friends and plan on inviting Peppa and her family into our home in more ways in the future.

I'm not familiar with Peppa but the toys & books look like fun. I like the bath time toys the best.

My granddaughter would adore Peppa Pig, she loves all piggies and has started collecting pig books and figurines and the plush toy would be great.

I think I'll definitely be buying the bathtime toy set for my niece this Christmas. It looks so adorable! Sports Day is so fun to play - have you tried any of the other Peppa Pig apps?
