Nutrisystem {Week 27}

Nutrisystem BloggersIt was an exciting time in my Nutrisystem life this week. No, not because of meeting any new milestone or goal, but because another month of delicious pantry and frozen foods arrived.

Yum.

Since joining the Nutrisystem Nation and having experienced the success that I have, the first question that people always, without fail, ask me is But how's the food?

I understand, it's a valid question.

However, it's not the question that always manages to catch me off guard, it's the tone of voice. Because people don't typically ask about diet plan food in a positive way, it's more in a you can tell me the truth, it's gross isn't it? sort of way.

I won't claim to be an expert on Nutrisystem, as I have in no way tried the majority of foods that they offer (being on the Vegetarian Program, I've actually tried far less than a lot of people have). However, here's my opinion. The real and honest truth to how I feel about Nutrisystem's food:

I love my favorites. Absolutely love them.

Four of my top picks: Chocolate Chip Scone for breakfast, Double Chocolate Caramel Bar for lunch, Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Shells for dinner, and a Creamy Fudge Bar for dessert.

There is no way that I could have stayed with a program for 27 weeks if I didn't like the food, it just wouldn't have happened. Does that mean that I love all of Nutrisystem's meals? No, of course not. As with any foods, homemade or store-bought or at a restaurant, you try things and you see if they fit your tastes.

The benefit of ordering each month for Nutrisystem is that then if you've found something you're not especially fond of, just don't order it next time. And if you've found something that you could eat for every meal (e.g. those Double Chocolate Caramel Bars shown above, mmmmmmm), then order a whole bunch of them.

When I open my new shipments and find big stacks of my favorite pastries for breakfast, soups and bars for lunch, and pizzas for dinner, I couldn't be happier. Then I just add in my fruits and vegetables and lots of water and here I am, 27 weeks later and more than 20 pounds lighter.

But I'm still not to my goal yet and I'm not even close to ready to give up now. I'm posting this week's update a day early because I won't be home tomorrow morning to step on the scale, so one day I early I find that...

Nutrisystem NationPrevious loss: 21.2 lbs

This week: -1.2 lbs

Total loss: 22.4 lbs

Not too shabby... but of course I'm still making up for the gain that I experienced last week. However, dedicating myself to not making any more excuses and being sure to try harder this week obviously helped and I'm happy to be back on track! Now I just have to make it through the July 4th/Birthday celebrations that we're going to this weekend and hopefully next week will be even better.
